Now that Christmas is right around the corner, Zoic is here’s to share some holiday safety tips! 🎅🏻

🎄If you use real Christmas trees, just remember that sometimes tree water can contain fertilizers which can cause GI upset in pets
🎄clean up Christmas tree needles regularly as some can be sharp enough to easily get stuck in your pets paws (or throat!)
🎄ornaments can be easily mistaken as new play things! We always recommend using unbreakable decorations
🎄Mistletoe, poinsettia, lilies, and holly plants are considered ☠️poisonous☠️for pets and if ingested and can cause GI upset and/or cardiovascular issues
🎄pets (especially cats) are drawn to tinsel and ribbon, but if ingested can cause an obstruction in the GI tract which will lead to severe vomiting, dehydration, bowel issues and even surgery 🙀
🎄keep your pets away from human food as well as keeping lids on trash cans secure
🎄holidays can be very overwhelming for pets and a house full of family members can be intimidating, always provide a “safe place” for your pet to go if they become too anxious
🎄last but not least, please remember that a pet is a living being and should never be given as a surprise gift. If you are wanting to gift a pet to a family member, it should be discussed beforehand to make sure that the gifting party is ready to take on the responsibilities of pet-parenthood! Gifting a pet is a 8-15 year commitment

We had so much fun at Disney World! 🏰 We proudly repped our little spotted friends, wearing our matching Cruella shirts that caught a lot of attention everywhere we went! The best part? ❄️Use pet safe de-icing products
❄️Properly fitted booties can protect your pets paws from frostbite
❄️Frostbite can occur in as little as 15 minutes! Keep outside time short in frigid weather
❄️Don’t be embarrassed to dress your dog! Sweaters help keep pets warm!
❄️Wash your pet’s feet, legs, and belly to remove packed snow, ice, salt, and de-icing chemicals after walks/outside time
❄️Clean up antifreeze spills quickly and make sure pets have no access to antifreeze!

Let’s talk long-haired Dalmatians! ⚪️⚫️ Contrary to common misconceptions, these beauties are not mixed breeds—they’re purebred Dalmatians! Their rarity stems from the fact that their long hair trait is recessive, so it requires two carriers of this gene to produce more of these fluffy love bugs! 🥰 not only that but historically, when Dalmatians served as carriage dogs, their long hair was deemed “undesirable” for practical reasons: short-haired Dals shed dirt and mud more efficiently and didn’t risk having their tail hair stepped on by horses or stuck in carriage wheels 🐎 Tragically, the puppies who came into the world with long hair were sentenced to death 😪 Thankfully times have changed! Today, these dogs still possess their natural courting instincts but are more likely to be found lounging on couches or stealing beds 🤭 so these long hair beauties are here to stay! 🎉 My beloved Soto is a testament to their charm and health, having aced his hip, elbow, and thyroid tests! 👍🏻💯
