For the love of God! Please stop turning a blind eye to what is happening in the world to animals! Please don't keep going when you see an animal hurt, please don't turn the channel when you see something you don't like please help! Rescues and shelters are DROWNING!!!!!! We are fighting a fight not many people want to get involved in because they can't handle what we see everyday, we can't handle what we see! I have always said Animal Rescues are the First Responders for animals. At any point just like LEO we drop whatever we are doing and run when we get a call for an animal in distress, we don't get holidays, we don't get vacations, it's not 8 to 5 it's 24/7 365 days a year, we have flashbacks, PTSD, depression and everything else that goes with this thankless selfless mission some people choose to do! If you don't know what is going on in your area with animals reach out to a rescue near you and ask if you can volunteer just for a few days see what we see, feel what we feel, spend one day in our shoes and if it doesn't change you nothing will! Please don't turn a blind eye rescues need you they need help we are dying out here 😭 no it's not easy to see, it's even harder having to pick up the pieces but we do it, not for us for them, the voiceless! Meet Oscar and Angel two out of many of the hundreds of thousands of animals we have saved over the years, Oscar was dumped on the side of the road about dead the woman who found him called everyone including animal control and nobody would help or they said they would euthanize him, she called us we dropped everything and went and picked him up. For days I slept in Oscars area to be able to feed him and give him Pedialyte every couple of hours. He had absolutely no muscle mass so he couldn't stand we had to help him learn to walk again. After a couple of weeks of vet appointments and eating and drinking everyday he went to his forever home but not just any home, a home I knew would love him and cherish him and give him everything he would ever need. Angel was used as a bait dog and dumped on the side of the road she was found by a good Samaritan who contacted us we got her to our vet and the good Samaritan wanted to adopt her, perfect right? Not so, two months later Angel was posted in a local group shot in the face I contacted the woman who adopted her and told her to go find her NOW and get her to my vet! When she got there with Angel I told her you will never see her again and you can now leave, if I had the proof that her father shot her I would have persued charges, the gun shot wound was over a week old and her little body was riddled with infection. I had to take her to UF in Gainesville where it's $500 to walk through the doors because she was smelling like infection and I needed her seen to fix the hole in her nasal cavity and palate after we got her stronger antibiotics and a quote for $10,000 I contacted our vet in Tampa and she quoted me $800 and did an Amazing job. Angel had her surgery and then caught parvo and salmonella because her immune system was so compromised when we finally got her home, I messaged the one person I knew that would never let her be hurt again. If we had turned a blind eye to either of them they would not be here. Even though something is hard to see please don't close your eyes to it you could save a life, you could change someone's day the world is hard right now, people are struggling emotions are high and a little kindness can go a long way! My husband and I try to make a difference even though there are days we feel like people take advantage there could be one day when one person who is on the edge gets our help and makes a difference for that one person! Please stop closing your eyes you could be the difference!
