Our case of the day belongs to Miss Chloe. She came to us on emergency this morning for dytocia, or 'difficult birth'. One of Chloe's puppies got stuck in the birth canal and she needed an immediate c-section.

After surgery, we were left with 4 healthy puppies and a very relieved Chloe!

It's that time of year again! Black Fly season! Also known as gnats or no-see-ums, these annoying bugs love to victimize our beloved pooches. Black flies like to populate wooded areas in the hot, humid summer months, and particularly near bodies of water.

If you are finding bites like these on your dog's belly/groin area, other than being itchy, they are not a cause for concern. The best way to soothe your fur-kid is to bathe using a gentle oatmeal shampoo and applying a topical like a baking soda/water mixture or a paw balm.

But how do I keep the black flies from biting in the first place you ask? Firstly, never use human bug spray! Only vet-approved bug repellent. We recommend:
