At Whiskers N Wishes, we provide a safe, comfortable sanctuary for cats in need. Whether that means finding homes for kittens or special-needs seniors, we're here for it!. We focus on cats who may have a harder time in a typical shelter environment -- meaning lots of shy, special needs, and senior kitties. Our goal is to be able to make Whiskers N Wishes a safe place for cats who have nowhere else

to go. We provide all necessary medical care, and all of our adoptable cats and kittens are up to date on vaccines, FELV and FIV tested, and spayed or neutered.

Blade is a super cool girlie. We adore black cats and have a few right now! They all get a breakaway collar to help distinguish them. (Same with any other cats that look similar.) After Blade gets through quarantine she will be moved in with other cats and dog tested with our onsite very cat friendly doggos! Blade is 8 years old and ready to head to a new home!

Gelato is a girl who knows what she wants. It’s attention. But not from a doggo. She would like a dog free home. She’s fine with other cats and with kids! The torbie girlie is very friendly! She’s ready to get a forever family.

Sandy, Hugs and Doja the Cat like to hang out together. Doja didn’t come from the ghost cat site but the 2 cats she came in with have been adopted out. Doja is a little too uncomfortable in the full open air part, which is common, so she joined ghost town. It helps them build trust in us but not run to the rafters where we can’t access them for medical care and monitoring.

All 3 are sterilized, UTD vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, dewormed and flea treatment.

Have you guys met Silky? She’s 2 years old and comes from the ghost colony! Silky is a bit shy but warms up. She’s super soft! She’s spayed UTD on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, flea treatment, and FIV/FeLV negative.

She also saw we are low on cat carriers. They break after many uses and we offer them for purchase at a discount on adoption. If you could visit the zon and send one or 3 we would appreciate it! Unfortunately there’s not a lot of sales on the hard side ones anymore and we need them to be firm for cat stacking. 😂😂

We got a very special card in the mail today from volunteers in the local cat community. It touched us deeply and came on a day when we needed it most. Thank you to all who signed and sent this. We love and appreciate you all. We are so proud to be part of the team.

Noche has many flops. She’s gearing up for the Olympic gymnastics team. (No one tell her they do flips not flops)

Even though she lived most of her life isolated she doesn’t let it get her down. Unless it’s for belly rubs!

Unfortunately the outcome wasn’t what we hoped. Her white blood cell count was 0, was in sepsis and ultrasound revealed her lymph nodes were marred with cancerous cells. The doctor at assured us we did everything we could, she came to us with this cancer and cats often go from seemingly great to dying.

Lavender was an absolutely wonderful girl. She was friendly, kind, loved catnip and other cats. She loved pets and snacks. She definitely deserved to have a home but we held her as she found her peace.

Peacefully journey onto your next adventure with the bird, the fox and the roast. Rest easy sweet girl.

Founder Emily is at the emergency vet with Lavender. She’s been lethargic and stopped eating. Suspect heat stroke and dehydration. We are glad we brought her to see the vet. She’s getting the royal treatment as the only patient currently.

Hoping we caught it soon enough and she’ll feel better with the extra support!

Mr Hugs is relaxing and enjoying the day. He’d love to meet you and give you a hug! He’s such a neat cat. We are kind of obsessed with him to be honest. Look how floof he is!

Boo just chilling after his baths. He has a dental scheduled in 3 weeks. His URI was not cleared up, but deep in his lungs. When our vets put him under for the dental the rattle became pronounced. They gave him a long acting antibiotics shot and brought him out of anesthesia. His teeth are extremely bad so it was a little disappointing we couldn’t get them done after Dove Mountain made sure we could get him in on an emergency timeline. We are taking it as a blessing in disguise because the URI looked cleared. He will be hanging here with us for a bit longer than anticipated now.

Silent is such a sweet boy. He is very quiet though. Does he know how to make noise? We aren’t sure. We do know he loves with his whole heart and adores pets and cuddles. 🥰

Silent is a spindly guy we are putting some weight on him and we’d love to find the sweet, gentle boy 8 year old a home.

This is Suede. She came to us late last night after being dumped at PACC as a “stray” with 22 other cats. We took 6 of the 22 plus 1 other cat. As you can see Suede is a very sweet girl. This morning her belly is swollen and hot and we are headed to the emergency vet to get her help. She’s only 1 and we are very worried about internal bleeding at her spay site. The thing about Emergency Vets is they aren’t free. If you’d like to donate to help this sweet tuxedo gal we could use it! Our funds are super low since we paid for the electrical upgrades (which are amazing). Watch tri-pawed, feral gal Clover hunt a lizard! This girl used to hide under things only. Now after the 3 years we’ve had her she’s been progressively more confident in the space and us! This is the first time we’ve witnessed her doing playful things!!!

Evening Ghostbusters! Ghost was have some lap cuddles with Director Emily this morning! She’s continuing to eat well and use her litter box! She’s got a grooming appointment on Friday with That Cat Groomer!

The first night of Ghost!

Ghosts had a great night in the rescue. She’s eating and she used the litter box!!!! Check out this footage of her from this morning!

Last night while doing the night check the boys wanted to play. So we spent some time playing! Biscuit and Clyde in the shy kennel and Reptar and Rocko in Gen Pop! Titus and Shasha also came over to attack the string. All of these guys need homes! All are sterilized, UTD vaccinations, FIV/FeLV negative and microchipped! We offer a multi cat adoption discount!

Yesterday was a very, very hard day. Rest in peace Mr sweet Menace.

Here’s a pebble update for everyone! She’s feeling so much better! She’s in a larger kennel with sweet boy Jiminy. We are feeling so much relief to see her active and eating. Thanks to Dove Mountain Veterinary and Moorpark Veterinary Hospital and Arizona Spay and Neuter for all the support in helping her get better!!

Jadon has been fostering Viking for us. He’s been improving so much with the one on one attention and more space to stretch and play. His favorite thing is churu and it’s made him a friend way faster! Viking did snap FeLV+ faintly. We are still hoping he will serum out of it at this point. We are testing again in a couple weeks. If he doesn’t that’s okay too! We find homes for FIV and FeLV cats!He’s gaining weight and eating like a champ and he loves scritches now! Thanks to MP for trusting us to get this baby on the right track!
