Cavalier Rescue USA Texas Welcome to Cavalier Rescue USA Texas. Our purpose is to highlight the dogs we foster in Texas. Thank You, Texas Coordinators. Cavalier Rescue USA (CKCSCR, Inc.)

We are getting some really great pups so please monitor our page for updates. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a graceful and happy companion, gentle and sweet, yet sporty in character, active and adaptable. In history--known as a "comforter spaniel"--this breed is often just as at ease being an affectionate lap dog as they are taking brisk walks, competing in agility, or fetching a ball many

times over. is a national, all volunteer, foster home based, non-profit organization. We are dedicated to finding loving families for Cavaliers who are in need of new homes. The Cavaliers entrusted to us are evaluated for temperament, brought up to date medically, and cared for by our dedicated volunteers until a permanent, loving family is found to adopt them.

Just adopted! 💕💕

Beau in Frisco, TX

Hi I’m Beau. I am a very cute 10 month old Blenheim boy who’s a big ball of energy and love. I am at my ideal weight at 25 lbs. but I have a bigger stature; so my foster mom calls me her gentle giant; but really it’s just more of me to love.

I don’t like being left alone for too long, I bark for a little bit until I fall asleep and I’m pretty loud so apartment living may be tricky. My foster mama puts me in my play pen if she must run out for a bit, and I’m fine there, but I’d really love my family to be home most of the day or take me with you wherever you go.

I have been completely vetted and neutered and have all my shots. I take heartworm prevention each month and eat a good quality dog food. I am about 80% housetrained now, I know to go to the door when duty calls but I’m still working on the best method to notify my human when I need to go, I usually give a couple soft whines, but I’m sure I’d pick up bell training very quickly.

I’m a great eater, not too fast and I always clean my bowl. I know how to sit and am eager to learn other skills (that result in a treat, I love treats!). I’m protective of my foster mama’s home, I am a great watch dog for her, alerting her to UPS, FedEx or more likely Amazon deliveries well in advance. My watchdog skills end as soon as the door is opened, and all I can see is another set of hands to give me scratches, I make fast friends with everyone.

I am ready for my perfect forever family, and if you feel you could love me as much as I could love you and are ready for an energetic pup, that’s me! Please fill out our application if you haven’t already and then send an email expressing your interest to Diane Theofanis at [email protected].

Just adopted! 💕

Oreo in Dallas, TX

Oreo is such a sweet and fun little almost 2 year old tricolor boy born 5-12-20. He came to the rescue from a loving home due to his medical condition. Oreo was born with a congenital defect in his heart valve. He has a grade 6 heart murmur and is doing well on medication.

You would never guess Oreo has a problem with his heart when around him. He is a happy and playful pup.

He is potty trained but upon coming to a new place will need taken out and reminded where he needs to potty. He goes well on command. He sleeps in a crate at night but loves to snuggle in the bed as well. Oreo has done well with car rides and really likes an elevated dog car seat so he can see what is happening. He loves food and has a great appetite.

Oreo needs a person home with him majority of the day. The best home for him would be a quiet household as he cannot have heavy activity due to his heart. He can still play and live a great life! He can have short walk but needs monitored (watch for excessive panting, coughing, or change in gum color). He is on several supplements as well as prescriptions to help his heart. He needs a home who will continue his cardiologist visits every 6 months. These appointments can range from $700-$1,200 typically and his prescription range from $80-$130 depending on where you have it filled. He is not in congestive heart failure and we can only hope he is able to stay out of it for as long as possible.

While Oreo will not have the lifespan of your average dog he will bring joy to his future owner for whatever time he gifts us with. His pure happiness brings a smile to the faces around him. If you think you can love and provide all the things he needs, please complete our application if you don’t already have one on file and then email Diane Theofanis at [email protected] to express your interest.

Just adopted! 🐶🐾💕

Sophia in Trophy Club, TX

Sophia is a sweet and sassy 2-year-old tricolor girl and she doesn’t just walk, she prances, and when excited, she has a cute little bounce to her step. Sophia came into rescue from a loving home, but her family worked long hours and she was very sad and anxious, so they entrusted her to Cavalier Rescue USA to find her a home where she would have very little alone time.

Some of Sophia’s favorite things is to cuddle and play fetch until you decide it is time to stop. She is young and playful and will bring the ball right back to you and has so much fun chasing it. If you don’t see the ball that she has set right by you, she will remind you with a little bark to ensure you know it is time to play. When you are done and hide the ball, she will put her little nose in the air sniffing for the ball and will try to find it. She is such a funny little girl. She also loves to play with toys and go for walks.

Her potty training is a work in progress. She has had a few accidents in foster care but is learning the routine. She does not alert you to go out and needs to be taken out first thing upon waking and every few hours throughout the day and last thing before bed. She loves to ride in the car and has great car manners. She likes to go with you on errands, especially the pet store where she looks forward to smelling new and yummy treats.

Sophia has been to the vet and is in perfect health! She is up to date on her vaccinations, on heart prevention, microchipped, and just had her teeth cleaned and now has beautiful, pearly whites!

Sophia is a one-person dog and has separation anxiety if she is left home alone. She will sit and watch the door the entire time waiting for her person to return. She wants a person of her own who will be with her most of the day. She will also do a little resource guarding with her persons lap and a good chew toy. With a firm no and being redirected she is quickly learning to not do this.

Sophia barks at others who enter the house for the first few minutes and then settles. She is not especially fond of men. The best home for her would be a quiet one-person household who will play with her and throw lots of balls and take her on walks. She sleeps in a crate at night but would most likely prefer to be in a bed as she likes to burrow under blankets and get really comfy. She would do best as an only dog, but she does get along with other dogs if you show her lots of attention and give her the main spot on your lap. She was also tested around cats and was good. If there are other pets, she needs to be kept separate during feeding time as she tends to resource guard her food especially if another pet gets too close and tries to steal her food, she will get mad.

Her foster mom has fallen in love with her and thinks she is such a special little girl. She follows her person everywhere with such love in her eyes. If you think you can love and provide all the things she needs, please complete our application and then email Diane Theofanis at [email protected] to express your interest.
