General information

FAQ: 1. How do I meet the dogs? a: Our first step in the adoption process is to fill out our adoption application. Most of our volunteers have full time jobs on top of their devotion to foster. Once your application has been submitted we are able to set up meet and greets for you based on the availability of the foster and the health and readiness of the dog. Most will take place at our adoption event at Petsmart every Saturday in Oro Valley but others may be set up outside of this event. 2. How much does it cost? -dogs 1 and under are $240 -2-5 yrs old $200 -5 and older $150 -purebreds and non-shedding dogs $300 (Please note that most purebreds will not have papers and we are going based off looks or parents if known. "Non-shedding" dogs do not shed to the best of our knowledge. Puppies coats may change as they get older. We will give a full refund within 7 days of adoption if anyone in the household is allergic.) We accept cash or charge(with a 5.00 processing fee for cards) These fees cover their age appropraite vaccinations, microchipping and their spay/neuter surgeries. 100% of the adoption fees go directly back into the rescue to help pay our ever growing medical bills for our medical needs dogs. 3. Where are you located? a: We are a foster based program located in Tucson and Vail areas. We hold adoption events all over town on various occasions but will typically be at Petsmart in Oro Valley (10625 N Oracle) every Saturday from 10-2pm. 4. How does your adoption process work? a: First step is to fill out our adoption application http://www.lilbitoflove.com/adoption-application Once that has been submitted we pass the applications to the dog you have chosen's foster family. If the dogs name is not listed as an option, please put their name in the comment section. The foster will go over all the applications and try to find the best fit for the dog. Sometimes there are many wonderful families that would all make great homes but it needs to come down to one. Please don't get discouraged as we have many dogs at many times that would make outstanding additions to your family! Once a few families have been selected the foster will contact you with the most current information about meet and greets, other potential adopters and can answer any questions you have about the dog. When the perfect family is found we have you fill out our adoption contract and pay the fee. You get their folder which includes any medical history done while in our care, their current vaccination records as well as their spay or neuter certificates. We take a family photo and that's it! Your new family member is yours forever! 6. What dogs are available right now? We will only consider applications made on dogs listed in our READY TO ADOPT album. If you fill out an application for a medical need dog or a coming soon dog we WE WILL NOT CONTACT YOU as that dog is not ready for adoption. Once the dog appears in the READY TO ADOPT ALBUM we will accept applications at that time. 5. How can I help? We are always in great need for new foster families! Many of our fosters have multiple dogs in their homes at one time. We prefer our dogs to have more relaxed environments where they can find comfort and peace learning to trust humans to care for them with love and compassion. If you are interested in becoming a foster please fill out our foster application: http://www.lilbitoflove.com/volunteer-application/ We are also in great need of donations towards our veterinarian bills which can be made through our donate buttons on our page and website! We accept cash, checks as well! puppy pads, blankets, dog food, crates, towels, dog toys, dog treats.

Lil Bit of Love to the Rescue

Lil Bit of Love was founded in November of 2015. The name Lil Bit of Love comes from a very special foster dog that our Director, Nicole, cared for named Lil Bit. He was a 4-week old, 5-ounce Chihuahua with hydrocephalus, an underdeveloped heart, and weak lungs. Nicole was told that he would only live for 24 hours, which she refused to accept. With lots of love and attention Lil Bit lived for three and a half wonderful weeks. He learned to walk, eat, and play before he left this world. After his passing, the rescue Lil Bit of Love was formed to give special needs dogs the opportunity to live a life filled with love and happiness. A large percentage of the dogs that we take in are sick or injured, leaving them overlooked in the shelter. After medical care and lots of love from our wonderful fosters, the public is able to see what we saw in them all along! Although many of our dogs may have broken parts, they all have very special hearts.

In 2017 Lil Bit of Love was able to include cats and kittens in the rescue program. We have have a full compliment of cats fosters, and have been wonderfully successful in finding these furry darlings wonderful homes.

If you love dogs and don't have the option of committing to one for years, consider fostering for LBL. We are completely foster-based, so the more fosters we have the more dogs we can help.
