Miss Maggie May's Rescue We are an all volunteer foster home based rescue group. We provide medical care, spay/neuter and vaccinations to the dogs in our care

Back in 2012, we saw a need for a rescue that was devoted to puppies, pregnant dogs, and families; and formed Miss Maggie May's Rescue. The rescue was named after the first foster we took in under a different rescue. Maggie was only 35 pounds (her ideal weight should of been 60 pounds), within 12 hours of being with us, she gave birth to 11 pups with only 5 surviving. We ended up adopting Maggie

and she was with us until 2021 (11 years). Over the course of the years we have shifted to bringing in dogs of all ages and sizes from shelters, and owner surrenders (to keep them out of the shelters). We are an 100% volunteer organization, and all donations go towards taking in these homeless dogs (as room in private foster homes permit), giving them love, any needed medical, training, and finding them new homes. All dogs and puppies are micro chipped, spay/neuter, and current on core vaccinations at time of adoption. Adoption fees alone does not cover the costs of food, medical and supplies that these puppies and dogs need so they can shine in their new homes. Donations (we are a 501c3) and Foster Homes are important parts of the equation in order to keep the rescue running and open.

Ruth is heading to Petsmart Grant and Swan Saturday the 20th. She will be there from 11am to 3pm.

Ruth came in with 3 siblings they all have found their forever homes, Ruth is still looking. Ruth is about 6 months old, she currently weighs 23 pounds. She is a cuddle bug, she enjoys meeting everyone.

VCA Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center has giving trees in their lobby benefiting several rescues including Miss Maggie May's Rescue. Like Quasi!

Quasi has been seen by our vet. He increased his antibiotic (severe Kennel Cough), he also prescribed medication for his ear infection.
Quasi's skin condition is really bad and has been going on for a long time he has so many scars from it, and is missing patches of fur all over his body, he is getting medicated baths at this point. Our vet also highly suggested the brand of food we should feed Quasi and it is expensive. Quasi is at a good weight so we were given the amount of food to feed him so he doesn't become overweight. Quasi is a super sweet boy despite how painful his skin and ears may be. He loves attention, cuddles, scratches, gets along with other dogs and overall has a great attitude. He deserves all the medical, help and love that he is now receiving, We couldn't do what we do without donations or the Fundraisers we hold,

Quasi joined Miss Maggie May's Rescue Yesterday!
This sweet soul was clearly worn out from overbreeding, but he's now on the path to healing. He's battling dermatitis and allergies, and is receiving antibiotics and medication to alleviate his discomfort. Despite his challenges, Quasi shines with his super sweet and friendly demeanor. He's proven to be a team player with other dogs and cats. Now, it's his turn to receive the love and care he deserves, get all fixed up, and find a loving forever home.

From his transporter:
When he came out from the back the whole room said,"Awwwww".
As we left the building he wanted to follow everyone he saw, he waited at the car for me to pick him up and put him in. He was taken to a temp overnight foster.
From his overnight stay:
There is a cat who loves dogs and needs to have a dog around all the time, Quasi didn't chase and was interested in saying hi. He wants to cuddle with people and has a great attitude.

It is going to take some time, more vet visits, trying out different foods, blood work and medications to get his skin back to tip top shape.

Until we know he is on the right path to recovery we are not accepting any applications for him at this time.

Ruth didn't get adopted. She knows the routine now. Gets excited when she sees things needed for an adoption event going out the door. She also knows when she should be going into her crate for the ride back to her foster house.
Today was a little busier then usual and she was out walking the store several times and meeting other dogs, there was only one that scared her and it was an overly excited pom, but Ruth was quickly picked up and then became curious.

We would like to give a huge heart felt THANK YOU to Martha French. Every November, Martha holds The French Open Golf Fundraiser, this year was the 19th year.
Years ago Martha decided to include Miss Maggie May's Rescue as one of the beneficiaries. Martha puts in a lot of work organizing the event and securing donations for the raffle.
What started out as a small fundraising event has continued to grow each and every year.
We also want to give a big thanks to her team of volunteers, the golfers, the businesses and others that donated items for the raffle (which gets larger every year) and the donors.
We can not do what we do without the support we receive.
The first items on our list were vaccines and microchips!
