The following story conveys an important message that many are overlooking. This is not a stand alone Tulia PD issue. This problem belongs to the community and surrounding communities to own. The overcrowding at City Pounds is not an isolated issue; many municipalities like Tulia are facing similar situations. It is imperative that Swisher County, Hale County, and other surrounding community City Councils recognize the urgency of this matter and implement stricter laws and ordinances to hold pet owners accountable. Some leaders need to stop worrying about being politically correct and work on what’s best for their communities. All life needs to be considered on this issue.

Pets, especially puppies, may start off adorable and manageable, but they grow up. Too often, when the novelty wears off, these animals are neglected or abandoned, leading to an increase in stray populations that roam the streets, exacerbating the problem.

Community leaders must back their animal control workers in enforcing accountability and ensuring compliance with these laws. Additional funding is essential to manage this issue more effectively, and it should be sourced from fines and fees levied on irresponsible pet owners who fail to adhere to the regulations.

This initiative is not just about animal safety; it’s about allowing communities to enjoy their neighborhoods without the unpredictability and potential hazards posed by stray animals. By enforcing these measures, we can create safer, more pleasant environments for everyone.

Great news for these puppies AND the City of Kress! Street Dogs has found a rescue to take these 14 adorable puppies. They will now have a great chance in life! The dogs were surrendered in Kress and the owners has agreed to let Street Dogs help them get their female fixed with help from the rescue that are taking them. They also made some commitments to the City of Kress to reduce the intake of animals at their residence.

Everyone, meet Duke! This lovable 3-year-old is in urgent need of a new home TODAY. He is fixed, has all his 9-in-1 shots, and just got his booster yesterday. Duke will need an updated rabies shot, which the current owner is willing to pay for. There's also a 40lb bag of food that comes with him. Kid and other dog friendly, states the owner. Dog is located in Silverton Tx.
