I love love love this!! Giving dogs the freedom they deserve is one of my favorite things to work on!
Olive and Oakley's parents wanted to be able to give their dogs freedom on their property as well as when they go camping. Prior to training they needed the long leads which get disgusting and tangled up on everything. Teaching your dog to have a reliable recall is so important! As you can see everyone involved is having the BEST time!!

Teaching your dog to be neutral is so important to having a well balanced dog! The best way to achieve this is by taking your dog to dog friendly places and events in your area! The more you expose your dog too, in a positive fashion, the better off they will be!

This training option allows the trainer to set your dog and you up for success by establishing consistency with all commands commands, socializing and proper leash walking skills. All you have to do is follow the steps laid out and maintain consistency. Mo ecollar training Day #3! Mo was not as consistent as her brother in her recall, especially if she was on a scent of something good! Today she turned a big corner! Between taking Luke and changing up the prong attachment so she could feel the vibration better, she did amazing!!
Next is adding different locations, including some hiking spots, adding her brother into the equation and doing some more sessions with the owners to make sure all 4 are comfortable and consistent!
Love giving the dogs and owners a sense of freedom!!
I often get asked how I train and have a toddler. Is it easy? No, not all the time. She's a typical toddler who gets loud, gets bored, throws a fit etc. But, we do everything together and it helps the dogs get used to the built in distractions that children come with. She is a BIG help and she loves helping me work with them daily! I couldn't imagine doing anything different and I'm so glad I have so many people who belive in me and my desire to help dogs and their owners!
Also, when someone says you can't have your dream career and be a parent, I'm here to tell you that you can!! It takes time and dedication but it can be done! Thank you to all my clients past, present and future!! ❤️
Yesterday Mo started our Play and Train program! Her and her brother are going to be dropped off with us to work on getting off leash reliable with their ecollar! Then we will work with their owners and make sure they are correctly using the ecollar before their big trip!
When trained correctly Ecollars are a great tool! This gives your dog freedom to be a dog and you the confidence in knowing you still have a dog who will listen even off leash!
Keys to making sure this is a positive situation is
1: get a trainer
2: learn as much as you can from said trainer
3: have yummy treats
4: have a long line
5: a good brand of ecollar (ecollar technologies or dogtra)
6: practice, practice, practice!
As you can see Mo is enjoying the freedom from just her first lesson!! Friday we get her brother Fenway for his first lesson!
As both Koda and Bernie's training comes to an end I wanted to challenge them both and bring them both inside to see if they could behave together. These two have become best friends and play like crazy when they are outside.
As you can see they directed their attention to me vs to continue playing. I love seeing this!
When Koda first started with us his anxiety got the better of him and he could not calm himself down and was in a constant state of GO!
Bernie is just a young AussieDoodle who had a good foundation, he just needed to learn how to channel himself better.
Both dogs have been amazing and I have LOVED seeing their growth!!

This is a small snippet of what I do pretty much daily with my Board and Trains. Not featured in this is planned naps in their crates, working with Bernie, more play time, and my almost 2 year old helping, as well as our evening routine.
My Board and Trains go on many field trips throughout their stays as well to work on commands out in public settings as well for socializing. They receive plenty of play and short training sessions throughout the day.
Board and Trains are successful because I train dogs daily but in a way that can easily be transferred when the dog comes home. It's the owner who has to add 10 to 15 minutes periodically throughout their day to focus on training to maintain their dogs training!
