Is your egg carton missing that blue egg?
For this weekend I only have Whiting True Blue chicks and a few Lemon Cuckoo Orpington chicks left.
My next hatch will be at the end of next week, chicks will not be available until the following week (the week of May 6th).

Are you looking to add some color to your flock or egg carton? This week’s babies can help you out with that!

🐣Whiting True Blues- feathers come in a variety of colors and they lay large blue eggs
🐣Olive Eggers- most have hatched blue or black and should lay a fantastic olive colored egg
🐣Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons- picture buff orpingtons, but fancier! These barred beauties are great yard candy. They lay a tan colored egg.
🐣Lavender Orpingtons- If you’re looking for the iconic big, fluffy butt orpington, these chicks are for you! Also lay a tan colored egg.
🐣Laced Lavender Orpington- These beauties have taken the lavender and stepped it up a notch 💃🏻🕺🏻. Lavender based with silver or isabel lacing, perfect for any yard. The ladies lay a light tan egg.

All chicks are sold straight run (not sexed).

📣Chick Availability📣
There is a handful of Orpington chicks- lavender (all claimed), lavender project (message me for more info on these beauties), and lemon cuckoo

*All claimed* There are a few olive eggers, I’m not setting many of them this year as I have enough in my own flock. These chicks should lay an awesome dark olive.

There’s a boatload of Whiting True Blue chicks! I’ve focused on breeding for muffs and the bluest eggs. These breed is very predator savvy and great layers of large blue eggs. This hatch has over 5 different feather colors 🤩

As always, my chicks are all straight run (not sexed). You WILL get roosters, if you can’t have them and don’t have a plan to move them along- these are not the chicks for you.

Pickup is in Turner, I try to meet closer if it’s a direction I’m heading- it never hurts to ask!

Ideally these chicks will be picked up tomorrow (Wednesday) or early Thursday. I know this week is very busy with school vacation, I will have more chicks hatching next week.

1-5 chicks is 3️⃣5️⃣ then it’s 5️⃣ per chick after that.
6 for 4️⃣0️⃣
9 for 5️⃣5️⃣
12 for 7️⃣0️⃣
Etc

Sunshine, open windows, and a sea of chicks; I sure hope this means spring is truly here!

These babies hatched yesterday and will be ready to go on Wednesday. This is not an availability post, as I haven’t sorted and counted. There are quite a few true blues, and a handful of olive egger and Orpington chicks.
Please don’t reach out yet to claim them, but do check your availability to see if a Wednesday trip is in the cards for you 🙂
If this hatch doesn’t work for your schedule, no worries! There will be more next week 🐣🐥

I hope everyone did alright with yesterday’s storm. Mother Nature sure showed us who is boss!
A small fertility check batch is hatching today. In true olive egger fashion, they all made sure to be the first to hatch. I will have chicks available midweek (watch for that post).
I’m not very impressed with my Lemon Cuckoo Orpington crew’s fertility right now, I’m hoping spring air and some trimming will change that. The Whiting True Blues and Olive Eggers were all fertilized, with all of the olives hatched.

Do you prefer your olives with or without speckles?

A very small batch of eggs were set this morning to begin fertility checks. I haven’t clipped any of the Orpingtons’ feathers yet this year, so we will see how they’ve done getting through all that fluff. Here’s to hoping that winter will be gone in 3 weeks 🤞☀️

I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking if I’ll be offering chicks again this season. The short answer is: yes!

While this weekend will have us all thinking spring, it looks like winter is still right on the warm weather’s heels. I will start having hatches in March, so hopefully you won’t have to brood in doors for longer than necessary.

I will not be offering goslings this year but I am happy to connect you with other local farms that are.

Prices will remain the same as they were last season for chicks and poults.
Poults will be $10 each
Chicks:
1-5 for $35 (total)
6 for $40
7 for $45
8 for $50
9 for $55
10 for $60
Etc.

Chicks are all straight run (not sexed) and I do not offer rooster take back.

Eggs are $55 per dozen

Chicks, poults, and eggs will all be posted when available and are first come, first served (first to schedule a reasonable pickup day/time). I hold on to chicks for at least 3 days and poults for a week before sending them off. Hatches should be weekly.

I’m looking forward to the warmer weather and getting quality chicks into your hands 🐣

Two sweet male Pilgrim goslings are ready for their new homes. They make a fantastic predator alarm system and have been great around children and other poultry.

All chicks, poults, and goslings are to be picked up in Turner. Priority goes to those who can pickup by the end of the weekend.

Three adorable Pilgrim goslings are ready for their home. Pilgrim geese are a great homestead addition- not overly noisy, but still a great alarm system. They have been fantastic with our children and other animals. You can raise them up to keep around or I’ve heard their meat is delicious.
These little boys are $25 each
