This week was filled with excitement at the farm as we continued our work with the horses for trails and honed our painting skills for the upcoming Paint A Horse activity. In addition, we were delighted to welcome visitors from the Early Childhood Education Center who had a great time exploring the farm, meeting our team, and learning about the incredible individuals who contribute their time and efforts here. Yesterday was a day filled with excitement as we celebrated "Safe Food for Horses Week" and farm birthdays for all our beloved horses and chickens. The goats had a blast mingling with new faces, while even the horses showed curiosity towards the newest members of our farm. It was a joyous occasion where fun and laughter echoed through the farm, creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.

Old Friends! 🥰
Last week, a heartwarming reunion took place at the stables. The gentleman who used to ride Tommy was back to riding him, reminiscing about their time together, including bringing Tommy to the Special Olympics Maine last year. The excitement was palpable as they worked together and rode Tommy, showcasing a great performance. It's always a joy when old friends reunite, observing how each has evolved and developed over the past year. The atmosphere was filled with smiles and excitement, culminating in Tommy successfully acing his first week back in the lesson program.

First trail ride of the season!! 🐎
We had our first trail ride of the season yesterday! Our dedicated workers have been busy preparing the horses for a summer filled with trails, lessons, and fun experiences. Jackson and Pixie, in particular, performed exceptionally well and thoroughly enjoyed being out on the trails for the first time this year. We cannot wait to embark on many more adventures with all our horses, exploring our farm's fantastic sensory trails. Here's to a season full of unforgettable moments and new discoveries!

We are thrilled to announce another amazing achievement at our farm - Tommy the Horse is officially back in the lesson program after being out of work for many months! Overcoming his struggles with anxiety, Tommy is now enjoying all the attention, cookies, support, and love from our dedicated volunteers, workers, and riders. Despite initial warnings of Tommy being bad and scary, he is quickly becoming the farm favorite, with riders even requesting to ride him ba****ck. In a heartwarming moment, John had the privilege of being the first to ride Tommy since his return. The bond between them is evident as they embark on this new chapter together. We couldn't be prouder of both John and Tommy for their hard work and determination. Good feelings all around as we celebrate this special milestone!

Shedding not only helps horses regulate their body temperature but also signifies the start of a new growth cycle for their coat. Horse owners and caretakers can support this process by providing proper grooming tools and techniques to help their equine companions comfortably shed their winter fur.

We are excited to share the inspiring story of one of our riders who not only served our country but is also the proud owner of a coffee company. This remarkable individual runs a certified disabled veteran-owned company and is enthusiastic about the success his fast-growing business is experiencing. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, he recently tackled the challenge of bonding with a new horse named "Cricket". The horse proved to be a patient teacher, helping our rider develop new skills that go beyond the equestrian world. Yesterday's lesson on consistency and determination while riding Cricket serves as a valuable reminder of the parallels between mastering new skills on horseback and in real life. We are proud to have such a dedicated and multi-talented member in our community!
