The Story of DOGGY + ME

Hello and welcome! I am so happy you are here!

DOGGY + ME is a big dream of mine and it would not be complete without you!

In December 2018, we adopted our first dog Lucy! Lucy, a lab mix, stole our hearts from the moment we met her. We had so much fun experiencing what it was like to raise a puppy. One of the challenges we had was leaving her alone for so long while we went off to our jobs. So, we knew that we needed to get a second dog, and then came Mandy. Our sweet rescue girl, a golden spaniel mix, with enough s***k to keep Lucy on her toes and a gentle motherly nature to make Lucy feel loved.

As an obsessed Dog Mom, one of the hardest things for me to do each week is to leave my fur babies at home while I go to my 9-5 grind. At work, I think about what it would be like to work form home, and even with my dogs!

A few months ago we went to pick our dogs up from the Pet Resort after our short vacation. The sweet employees at the Pet Resort had a tied a teal bandana around Mandy and Lucy and as they came running towards us in their adorable teal bandanas, they had the biggest smile on their faces. When we got home they did not want to take the bandanas off. Even when we did take the bandanas off, every time we went to put the bandanas back on they got so excited.

Seeing them so happy, made me wish I had more of these bandanas for them - custom bandanas with their name on it, holiday themed bandanas, and even bandanas with matching human bows.

That’s when the idea for DOGGY + ME was born!

Over the past few months I have learned to sew and experimented with different fabrics to find the perfect one. Making the bandanas personalized was very important to me because I wanted each bandana to be just as unique as the pup wearing it. I invested in and learned how to use tools that allow me to add vinyl lettering to each product.

I have learned so much while beginning this small business and I can’t wait to share my creations with you!

At DOGGY + ME, we hope you will enjoy these adorable wearables, but most of all we hope that precious memories are made while wearing these fun bandanas.
