Mr. Cal here wants his friends Solo and Betty to find their forever homes too. Solo is heading to Board and Train this weekend. We still need to finish fundraising for his training. Once that fundraiser is over we need to fundraise for Bettys Board and Train. Consider skipping the coffee and donating $5 to help us give Solo and Betty the training they need so they can find a home and stay in that home. Retired USMC Military Police K9 handler Ostrowski will officially be giving his K9 partner, Dino, his forever home! Dino's 9 years of service in the Marine Corps will be ending Fall of 2024. While stationed out here, K9 handler Ostrowski went above and beyond for abused and neglected dogs aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms. ✨ Wishful Wednesday ✨
Mals House Rescue is a veteran owned and operated 501(c)3 dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need. We've not only rescued dogs from high kill shelters but we've also rescued dogs from the streets. As you all know, we're closed for intake due to lack of funds, fosters and adopters. We really need your help. We need to fundraise for Solo's 4 weeks in Board and Train and then we need to fundraise for Bettys 4 weeks in Board and Train. Donations are at an all time low for all rescues. We also do not count with the support of the local community. We rely on the generosity of supporters from other parts of SoCal and other parts of the country. Mr Warrior has made tremendous progress with his leg/foot. We are so blessed to be a part of this puppy's journey. He is spooky season ready 🫶🏼 And so are we! Cold temps can't come soon enough.

Solo just had his last bath with us. He's leaving to board and train this week. After four weeks he will need an adopter. If you've been looking for a silly and sweet boy he's your guy. He's going to training to work on his manners and build exposure/neutrality in new places. If you remember, he was left to fend for himself in a backyard in the middle of a heatwave. Ren is a 45 lb, 1.5 year old, altered male Dutch Herder.

🐾 CHARACTERISTICS:
*Medium energy & HIGH drive. Ren settles well when chilling in the house, out in public, and when training.
*Good food drive and insane toy drive, specifically for a ball/ kong. This would potentially make him an exceptional candidate for detection.
* Neutral to people and dogs out of his circle. Playful with dogs he knows as long as there are no toys around for him to hyper-focus on.
*Gets along fine with dogs (he has not met any inappropriate dogs so far), cats, and strangers that come over, and in public. If you play with him, he’s your best friend. He is confident, loves to tug, play, and bite.
🐾 TRAINING:
* Crate and potty trained. He is crated when left unsupervised.
* He understands basic on-leash skills and is learning ecollar training. Owners MUST utilize these tools to keep him successful and easy to manage and live with.
*understands place, sit, down, recall, heel, out & different markers for food and toy.
*naturally very good off leash, but there is room for some improvement and reliability with advanced ecollar training
🏠🐾 Ideal Adopter:
*Ren needs continuous training and some sort of outlet (being an active pet owner is NOT enough), to meet his needs. He has intense working dog qualities and he would definitely take advantage of a lenient or lazy handler who cannot not meet his needs. He would enjoy recreational bite sport / protection training and detection.
* Experience with mals or similar breeds is EXTREMELY preferred.

✨ $5 Friday ✨
As you all know, we are closed for intake. We have dogs that still need vetting(we have appointments in the next two weeks), dogs that need to go to training(four dogs to be exact) and dogs that have been waiting for adopters for over half a year.
We need to raise funds to keep operating (supplies, dog food, treats/chews, gas, etc) and funds for Solo's and Betty's Board and Trains. Once Solo and Betty complete their programs we will have to send Asha and Audrey. That's a lot of fundraising to do. We are asking the community to come together and help us raise funds so that we can get our current dogs taken care of. We also ask for your support in helping us find homes for the dogs under our rescue. We'd love for Chance, Dex, Ren, Jack, Cal and Fallon to find their forever homes soon. Once we raise much needed funds we need half of our dogs adopted to open intake again. Cal is a fan favorite 😍
He's handsome, sweet, good with all dogs, adults, kids. To think adoptable dogs like him get PTS for space every day is truly heartbreaking. Please consider donating to reputable non profit rescues so they can continue saving lives. Rescues can't do it without the community's support. If you've been looking to adopt, now is the time. *Super talkative
*Loves to play and loves music
*Would do best in multi dog home

*Is able to be best friends with anyone who walks into his home: very social with both humans and dogs.

🏡 IDEAL ADOPTER:
Active home not required but the ability to provide toys and chews and walks/hikes are a must. Dogs in the home preferred but will consider homes without dogs too.

✨ Wishful Wednesday ✨
As you all know, we're closed for intake. But that doesn't mean the bills stop. We have a lot of vetting to complete in the next weeks. We also have four dogs that need to go to training. Not to mention unexpected vet bills, grooming, dog food, dog treats and chews(non negotiable for the breed), gas for transport to and from the vet, Warriors recheck on the other side of the state, and the list goes on.
We could really use your help. You all see how we go above and beyond for our dogs; often fostering and transporting ourselves. But it is draining. And due to our geographic location we can't host events or fundraisers like other rescues can. No one here wants to help. Trust us. We've asked endless times for the past years. We have thousands of dollars in bills coming up. Please help us. So many dogs are being PTS. So many dogs are being dumped in the streets. We want to help. But we can't until everyone's vetting is completed, until half of our dogs get adopted and until two of the four dogs go to training. 💕Betty Medical Update💕
Betty's f***l came back negative. We believe her diarrhea was due to wet food she had that did not sit well with her tummy. We will need to get her groomed by a professional so she can feel her best after the diarrhea and all. Betty also needs to go to board and train. If you remember, Betty was found on the I10 freeway. We believe Betty lived a life of neglect and abuse. She's immensely sweet and good with all dogs and humans but a board and train would be her best bet to work through all the trauma, abuse and neglect and so she can become a better version of herself. Please consider donating so that we can get this girl into training. Remember, rescue does not end when a dog is pulled from the shelter. That's only when rescue starts. Poor Betty was having the runs for unknown reasons. Probiotics, anti diarrhea and your good old chicken and rice didn't help so we decided to do an urgent care appointment. We called today and the vet didn't have a regular appointment until Wednesday. We all know diarrhea for days can be dangerous so her foster took her in for an urgent care visit today. She was given probiotics and something to harden the stool. A f***l was also done and we will know the results in a day or two. Today's bill was unexpected and we could use help offsetting it as we were already in dire need of donations. Solo's fundraiser is still at $15 to say the least. Remember Kamila? Kamila and her sister Juno (adopted) were dumped in the desert and were skin and bones. Had we not rescued them that week they would've probably not made it. Kamila is thriving in her foster to adopt home. She's great with her kittie siblings and her allergies are gone! Isn't she beautiful?! Happy Sunday everyone 🤍

We rescued Warrior FKA Rex from the San Jacinto Campus. Two vets suggested amputation but we found a third vet that wanted to save his leg. It's been two weeks since his surgery. His bandage came off yesterday and now we need 4 more weeks until he goes in for a recheck which will include an exam, xrays, the whole works. If all is well, Warrior will need a foster or foster to adopt home soon after. If you are interested in fostering or fostering to adopt please reach out to us or fill out an application in our bio. Unfortunately a lot of people did not honor their pledge towards his care. The surgery itself was in the thousands. If you haven't done so yet, please consider doing so. We could use the funds for chews/treats/enrichment to keep this puppy Mal busy while he recovers and could also use funds for his appointment in four weeks. We will have to travel over 3 hrs each way for that recheck. Please stay tuned for more updates 🤍

If you have been following for some time, you know Solo's story. If not let us tell you. Solo and Jar Jar (she's been adopted) were left behind in a backyard in the middle of a heatwave here in Twentynine Palms. Literally ten minutes away from us. The owners moved and took their puppies but left the two adult dogs behind. We saw their post on and begged for help. Of course, no one stepped up despite thousands of views on both of our reels. It wasn't until the next day someone offered to foster to adopt both. The joy didn't last long though. We got there and when she saw Solo was not a pure bred Dobie she said she'd take Jar Jar only. Due to no one else stepping up we agreed and we had to take Solo home. She returned Jar Jar 30 minutes later. So we had to foster both. We kept begging for a foster as we have absolutely no space here (we have other dogs no one ever stepped up to foster) and still no one stepped up. We've worked with Solo for weeks but due to lack of space here and due to our geographic location it is in his best interest that he goes to a board and train program out of the area so he can have his best shot at a forever home. Solo is immensely sweet. He lived with cats and children and did well per the landlord. We absolutely adore him and want the best for him. Board and Train will be about $3000. We have an initial goal of $1000. We would like to have $1000 raised before he goes and then fundraise for the rest once he is in training. We know this is a huge undertaking. And we could use all the support we can get. Although our rescue is small we will always do everything we can for the well being of our dogs. But we can't do it alone.
