Say hello to this week’s adorable #FosterFeature, Peter! He is a 3.5 year old Pit mix who weighs about 65 pounds.
Peter is a goofy and handsome boy who is struggling with life in the kennel. He was in a foster home during our shelter move and loved his stay-cation with his foster mom! He did wonderful in the home and would love more time to decompress and see what it’s like to have a home for the holidays.
He is a big goofball who can be sensitive at first, but within minutes he is your new best friend- especially if you have some tasty treats. Peter is a laid- back guy and find pleasures in the simple things. As you can see from his video, he loves treats and is always down for a puzzle toy for extra enrichment if it means he gets more food!
Once he’s had his fun for the day he enjoys to cuddle and is a great companion for an afternoon nap or one of your favorite holiday movies. He can be nervous of new dogs, but with a slow introduction he could form a lasting connection with one of his canine friends. Since he is nervous at first, he would do better with older children, but could do great with some time and patience.

On this week’s edition of #ExtendedResident, we’re featuring the pawsitively wonderful Remi!
Remi is a 75-pound Terrier mix who has been waiting over a year for his forever family. He arrived at our shelter the day before Halloween, after being found in an abandoned home, thin and with wounds on his hips from lying on hard surfaces. But this resilient boy has come so far and is ready to leap into a new chapter of his life!
Remi has become a staff favorite thanks to his many quirks and playful spirit. He’s one of the most athletic dogs you’ll ever meet, and you’ll often find him soaring through the air to catch his favorite toy or playing tug-of-war until his human companion needs a break! No toy is safe from his enthusiasm, and he’s sure to put a smile on your face every day.
While Remi can be a bit shy when meeting new people, give him a little time (and a few treats, of course!), and he’ll become your loyal companion for life. He’s great with other playful dogs and would love a fur sibling who can keep up with his energy. Bob Ross has been on quite the journey with us since January 2023, and this sweet, 6-year-old, 68 lb boy is now ready for his masterpiece—a forever home! Starting out, Bob bravely fought through heartworm treatment, and now he’s a healthy, happy pup who just needs a family willing to see his true colors.
At first, Bob can be a little reserved, but once he knows you’re his friend, his playful and loving side shines. He absolutely adores his squeaky toys and is always up for an adventure with his favorite people! Say hello to this week’s #ExtendedResident, Uno!
He’s named Uno because he is definitely number one in our eyes. Heartbreakingly, he has been in our care for almost 2 years. He arrived in our care in January of 2023 as a humane officer case when he was abandoned and neglected by his previous owner. Since he’s been here, he has gained some much needed weight and has been absolutely thriving.
As you can see from his adorable video, he absolutely loves to play in the water and would be a great addition for any family that’s looking for water dog! Aside from his pool, Uno’s second favorite activity is playing with his squeaky toys. He has never seen a stuffie toy that he doesn’t love and he will do anything to get his paws on some new toys. He has plenty of energy and will gladly do zoomies around the yard, but he is quick to settle down for some snuggles right afterwards.
Uno has never met someone that he doesn’t love and he is instantly your new best friends. Since he can be a bit rowdy at times, he would do best in a home with older kids that can manage him even when he gets excited! He is nervous with new dogs and isn’t too sure how to interact with them, so he would likely prefer to be the only dog in his forever home.
Uno has lived here for far too long and we’re hoping that he will finally be in a home this holiday season. If Uno looks like the one for you, stop in to meet him and let us show you why he is such a special pup!

Meet Surfer! She’s a 3-year-old Pit Bull mix and weighs 58 pounds. This sweet girl is looking for her perfect family to call her own.
Surfer was left behind by her last owner, and she’s been with us for over a year and a half. She’s a little shy at first, but with some patience and treats, she warms up and becomes a fun, loyal friend! She has a heart of gold and just wants someone to love.
Surfer really likes other dogs and feels braver when she has a dog buddy. She would do best in a home with another dog to help her feel safe and show her how fun life can be. She’s a bit shy with kids, so her forever home should have kids who are at least 13 years old.
Surfer would also do great in a foster home where she can learn what it’s like to live with a family. Even if you can’t adopt her forever, fostering her for a few weeks would make her very happy! Surfer will bring lots of love and fun to your life.
