Say hello to today's #ExtendedResident, Goose. 👋
This resilient 5-year-old Pit mix, weighing 70 lbs, has been with us since February 2023, and he’s still holding out hope for a forever family to call his own. Goose has had a tough journey, having been adopted and returned a few times, but he remains a happy-go-lucky boy with a charming smile that will melt your heart.
Despite the split in his ear and a few scars—silent reminders of a rough start in life—Goose has never let his past dim his bright spirit. He’s all wiggle butt and endless enthusiasm, always ready to greet you with a wag and a grin that’ll light up your day. His super-smart brain is packed with tricks that he can’t wait to show off, and he gets along well with most dogs.
Goose dreams of a family where he can spend his days playing or enjoying outdoor adventures, and his nights curled up on the couch, soaking up all the love he’s been missing. He would thrive in a home with kids aged 10-13, where he can share his boundless love and happiness.
After so many months in the shelter, Goose deserves to finally find the family that will keep him forever. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for?
For more information or to schedule a meet and greet, call us at 330-487-0333 ext 226. Let’s make sure Goose never has to wait another day for a loving home! 💕🐶

Meet Grizzly, today's #ExtendedResident. He's a goofy 2-year-old Pitbull mix who's ready to steal your heart!
Weighing in at 55 pounds, Grizzly may be a bit sensitive when meeting new people, but once he warms up to you, he's a total goofball. He absolutely loves his daily walks and playing with toys, as you can see by this adorable video!
Grizzly is selective with dogs, so he would need a slow introduction to see if they would be a good match, but he may prefer to be the only dog in his forever home. Since he can be pretty shy at first, if there are kids in his forever home, they would need to be ages 13 and up.
If you're ready to welcome a playful, handsome, loving companion into your life, Grizzly is waiting to meet you! 🐾❤️

Roxanne is a smart cookie who enjoys learning new tricks and going for long walks outside. As you can see from her adorable video, she’s very playful and absolutely loves playing fetch.
When it comes to other dogs, Roxanne is a bit nervous, so she would need a slow introduction to see if they could be a good fit. However, she might also be perfectly happy being the only queen in her castle.
Due to her initial sensitivity, Roxanne would do best in a home with children aged 13 and older.
If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Roxanne is ready to steal your heart! Give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext. 226 to schedule a time to meet.

As you can see from her adorable video, Maeve absolutely adores her toys and loves being outside. She’s the perfect companion for all your summer adventures. Maeve can be a bit nervous in new situations and prefers a slow introduction to help her build confidence. She’s also a bit cautious around new dogs, so she would need a slow introduction to see if she’s a good fit, though she might enjoy being the only dog in her forever home.
Due to her initial sensitivity, Maeve would do best in a home with kids aged 13 and older. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, sweet, and active companion to share your summer and beyond, Maeve is ready to steal your heart!
Have you ever met a dog whose very essence can be summed up in one word: HAPPY? That’s Louise! 🙂
Despite having called the shelter home for over a year, Ms. Louise loves life. Her graying muzzle reflects her seven years of wisdom, and her always-bouncing, slightly plump body constantly wiggles with joy.
This 7 year old pup gets along wonderfully with other dogs but will need a home without cats.
The best part? For the month of July only, all residents over 1 year old are 50% off with approved applications! Plus, every adopted dog gets a brand new doggie bed.

Our office is closed today as we celebrate our independence and enjoy fireworks! Speaking of fireworks, here are a few ways you can keep your pets calm during loud celebrations:
🐾 Leave your cat or dog indoors, and consider moving them to a room that they are comfortable in with blankets, pillows, and toys while the show is going on.
🐾 Turn on some quiet, peaceful music. Listening to this can distract them and soften the firework noises.
🐾 Close windows and blinds to dim any noises or flashes coming in from outside.
🐾 Walk your dog early in the day to avoid being outside when fireworks are going off.
Jelly Bean & Jelly Belly - Adoption Update
HOW CUTE! Shout-out to Grace for sending us this adorable adoption update. 👇
"Jelly Bean and Jelly Belly are happy in their new home!
We adopted these sweet girls at the beginning of May, and they are already part of the family. They love to play and cuddle with each other, and most of all, get lots of pets.
These two are best friends and entertain us by chasing each other around the apartment. They especially love their cow catnip toy. They always announce when they carry it around with an excited meow. If they could speak English, I think it would sound something like, "THIS IS THE BEST TOY!"
Bean instantly falls in love with everyone she meets, whereas Belly likes to have a bit of space while getting to know people. They are a perfect bonded pair that compliment each other. We are so happy to have them in their forever home!
Thank you Summit Humane Society!"
Thank you for giving Jelly Bean and Jelly Belly the home they deserve, Grace!
Send us an update on how your new furry family member is doing to [email protected] and we could feature you in an upcoming post.

Hannah Montana - Foster Request
This is an URGENT PLEA to get Miss Hannah Montana into foster home!
Hannah Montana has been a beloved member of our shelter family since June 2022. She arrived here due to her previous owners couldn't provide the daily care she needed. Since then, she has shown us just how wonderful she is, capturing our hearts with her charming personality and joyful spirit.
Hannah Montana is an absolute lovebug. This social lady thrives on interaction and loves to be around people. She enjoys playing with her toys, rolling around, and expressing her playful nature. Swimming is one of her favorite activities—she's a natural in the water and even excels at dock diving. Some might even call her a pro!
However, despite all her amazing qualities, Hannah Montana struggles with isolation distress in the shelter environment. She needs a loving foster home where she can receive the attention and companionship she craves. A stable and nurturing environment will help her thrive and bring out her best qualities.
Hannah Montana would do best in a home without cats, but she may be open to having a canine friend. Ideally, she would love to be the queen of the castle, where she can bask in all the love and attention she deserves.
If you can open your heart and home to Hannah Montana, you'll gain a loyal, fun-loving companion who will bring endless joy and love into your life. Please consider fostering Hannah Montana and giving her the chance to shine outside the shelter walls.
