Well “Fostering the Failed” has failed at fostering. Aggie is officially a Lewis. We truly wanted to see her go to the perfect home… and we slowly realized that our home was actually that perfect home for her!

The weather this weekend was perfect for a little leash practice! Aggie did great on her first walk to the park! She even kept up with Kevin for a short jog! It’s such a blessing to watch her grow in her confidence!
If anyone is interested in adopting Aggie, speak soon! She has big city plans, heading to Chicago, in a couple of weeks otherwise! This sweet girl is eager to please. She needs a wee bit of patience at first so that she knows she can trust you. Although, once you’ve earned her trust she will completely loyal to you!

Aggie is just one of the kids this morning!

We recently discovered that Aggie still has trouble warming up to new people. It takes her longer than usual. She is scared. She needs a little more time but once she knows she can trust you, she’ll be your best friend! By a little experimenting, it takes about an hour. Let me tell you, she is worth the time! I can only imagine this is linked to some poor past experiences for her.

Aggie is ready for adoption! She is a total treasure and will make an excellent addition to someone’s family! She will be available for adoption through Nicholas Pet Haven, but I am happy to answer any questions about her!

Aggie is a sweet gentle girl! She loves attention and loves to play, but also a great couch potato! She is cat friendly and does great with other dogs. She is cautious at first with young children but does great when she knows that she can trust that child! She has two kids (7 and 4) at her foster home and does perfect with them! She has shown no aggression at all and very rarely barks. She is perfectly house trained and has insanely great bladder capacity! She is smart and learned to sit with just a few minutes of training! Aggie is go with the flow and very flexible. She just wants to be loved! She would make a great companion for anyone!

Agatha aka Aggie, came to us today. She was rescued by Nicholas Pet Haven at the beginning of the month. She came from a hoarding situation where the owners left the dogs to fend for themselves . There were several dogs and 18 puppies rescued! She was under nourished, had fleas, mange and had already likely carried multiple litters of puppies.

She was cautious to trust me at first but quickly warmed up. She was so scared when a couple of family members came to meet her earlier today that she peed in fright. We know to take it slow now. It’s so sad to think of what scenario in her past makes her feel that way. We are excited to help turn that around for her and show her some love!

Meet Obi! Unfortunately Obi was so horribly FAILED that he couldn’t reach the happy ending that I had hoped for him. We took Obi in a couple of weeks ago as our very first foster. He had parvovirus and his symptoms were just not apparent yet. He quickly declined. Obi didn’t make it.
He would’ve made an excellent pet. He was sweet and so smart. It’s outraging. Parvovirus is so avoidable.

A. Spay and neuter your pets! This avoids unwanted animals or animals that you can’t afford or don’t want to take care of.

B. Vaccinate your animals! If Obi had been vaccinated appropriately, he would’ve received the parvovirus vaccine at 6 weeks old and this post about his story would’ve been totally different.
