This is Esther, the Samoyed. I have been grooming her for many years (since a puppy). She always comes in with pretty packed undercoat but has never been matted. It’s always a lot of work but she’s a good girl and we get it done. Well, this time she actually came in very matted. After much trying to get it out and calling her mom and dad and discussing options, we decided that for her comfort AND ours ... we needed to give her a first ever haircut. I’ve always dreamed of shortening her hair to a nicely scissored trim but this is NOT what I had in mind. But .... gotta say I love it. Not crazy about the “mane” but it balances out the tail. She’s so cute! 🙂

So very sad to say a grooming friend of ours passed away. Weegi Golden of Weegi’s Poodle Salon will be missed. Such a sweet lady. My grooming facility is on the property her and her mother groomed on since the late 1960’s. Very sad to hear this news.
