2024 is already planned for Hill View Equestrian. We will still be making continued improvements to the facility and should be back in full swing in 2025!

➡️ I’m currently not taking any new lesson clients until spring (besides those who have purchased gift certificates). I’ve reached my limit with 15 lessons each week thanks to some awesome clients 😃

➡️ I’m currently taking a personal break from riding horses, for a while….

➡️I will not be scheduling any lessons at all during the months of July and August of 2024 as I will be away from the farm.

➡️ No stall board available for 2024 and only a few pasture board openings will become available. Pasture board is $350. An approved application, references, and barn tour will be required to be placed on a waiting list.

Thanks to everyone who made our first year successful! There were over 150 riders that came through for lessons, boarding, training, and haul ins!

Because I’m a Science nerd, today was f***l test day under the microscope. This lets me know which horses are needing de-wormed as we go into winter! What you see are Strongyle eggs.

Offering a “Meet and Greet” option for those that are curious about lessons and the facility! It’s a 30 minute farm tour to meet horses, groom, and possibly a quick ride. Price is $25 with a signed liability form.

Here’s a mustang update for those following along with Sheba and Barbie. Barbie is leaps and bounds ahead of Sheba. With minimal handling, I’m ready to start working with a saddle. She’s everything I really wanted!

As for Sheba, she’s a dragon! After 8 weeks I finally got a first touch with her today! She’s been aggressive and I’ve nearly lost my head a few times. Her size really intimidates me as her withers are almost as tall as the 6’ panels. We’ve had 7 ugly sessions roping her and I still couldn’t get close. I believe we’ve had a breakthrough now though.

In search of horse wish list currently. Leases are okay. Let me know if anyone might have a horse that would fit the description:

➡️ Small, white pony or mini mare or gelding. Needs to be good around kids.

➡️ AQHA Hunt seat mare under 10 and 16+ hands as a Broodmare. No appendix. Currently in foal is great.

➡️ Older lesson horse suitable for lessons walk, trot, canter for adults.

➡️ Lesson horse for speed/gaming events. Safe is important.

Mustang Jolene’s trip to Cape Hatteras Island

Fun day at the Land Rover 3 day event!

Jolene is an 8 year old 13.2 hh BLM mustang from Spruce Pequop HMA in Nevada. She has completed a 100 mile, week long camping trip last June and an endurance ride last fall. Sound, quiet, easy keeper, no shoes needed, ties to a hi-line, hobbles, loads, good for farrier, and can ride up to 30 miles a day. She could go in any direction like barrel racing, trail competition, or ranch type work. All the hard work is done and she just needs a job. Suitable for a small, adult rider or experienced youth. She is talented, rides one handed, bridleless, and has buttons so not for a beginner. Located in southern Indiana. Title in hand. Mid four figures.

Mustang Jolene in Michigan

Jolene, my pony mustang, needs her own little rider! I absolutely ADORE her but she’s too small for me. I’ve been working hard to get her broke enough for a small, experienced rider. Literally has hundreds of trail miles under her. Riding around bridleless.

Old Red Man out for a trail ride 🐎

Ride #3 for this colt. He naturally wants to move low and slow so I’ve had to use a flagger to keep him moving forward. Very nice and quiet!

I absolutely adore this little Mustang ❤️ Jolene lays down and takes a nap every afternoon 💤

Broodmare

A good friend of mine needed a favor to get a few rides on a bred mare. She hadn’t been ridden in 3 years and didn’t know how broke she was. This is her 3rd ride with me. She’s a good one 👍
