we have been taking advantage of the weather these past few weeks to get homework done and improve our skills for the upcoming season. lots of riders working on new things to build their tool belt for a more effective ride. from learning posting diagonals from feel only to learning to canter strides in lines, increasing our self awareness, and more. i love seeing everyone’s progress!

we had a lovely in house clinic with Julie Chapman yesterday. the weather held and everyone had good and insightful rides with lots of takeaway and homework. we cannot thank Julie enough for providing wonderful instruction and guidance. can’t wait for next time!

we had a fun time taking a couple horses to play today to build some confidence! we have our homework and are ready to take on the next adventure!

we have grown and would like to welcome our newest members!

Rosie safely made the 20 hour trek from Ocala to St. Louis and is enjoying the cooler temps. Anna and Rosie are getting along well and have ambitions to make their debut in the dressage ring next year!

The Fruits family started their lease on the wonderful connemara pony Cailin. we are excited to see what this pair accomplishes over the next year and the horsewoman Ella will become!

Jade and Winston had also recently moved to us to join jumperland with the goal to compete! Winston has so much potential and we are excited to aid in their journey together!

we had a great experience at the 81st Bridlespur Hunt horse show at Happenstance Farms this past weekend!

On friday Dilynn Aufmuth and Asia made their debut in .60m jumpers again, where Dilynn knocked the rust off to get 1st and 3rd in a competitive group after only jumping a few times in the last couple months. nice work!

Saturday and Sunday Madi DeVenuto Grellner and Asia had forward and consistent rides in their first .75-.85m jumpers together to stay in the top 3 spots all weekend out of another large and competitive group!

Luci (Heather Giles) and Ranger had very solid trips in ther ground pole division all weekend, and brought home Champion on sunday. Luci worked very hard each day to produce the best rounds she could with her mount and has officially graduated from the groundpole division!

On Sunday, Ella (Crystal Fruits) did her very first class on Ranger in the walk trot. She braved the weather like a true pro and had a very good ride. a little show jumper in the making!

Megan Harp and Delston made improvements to their rounds in the .85-.95m all weekend, focusing on rhythm and strengthening their partnership. This was only Delstons second time competing at that height and he is ready for more!

Thank you Happenstance Farms for hosting such quality events in our backyard. It is one of our favorite places to go! and congrats to all of our riders and their horses this week as everyone brought their A game each day, not only for their own rounds but for each others as well. I could not have asked for a better group of students (and parents) to showcase the meaning of horsemanship and sportsmanship. Onto the next adventure!❤️

we had a wonderful time riding with Julie Chapman this past Tue-Wed for our in house clinic. everyone had great rides and great takeaways from Julie’s impeccable teaching. time to get started on our homework. thank you Julie!

We have one stall opening up in June for full care board in Union, MO just minutes from I44 and 45 mins from the NEC and other shows!

We offer:
-10x12 fully matted stalls with windows and industrial fans for maximum air flow
-large grass fields with regular rotation and small herds for optimal grazing
-indoor arena and 110x170 outdoor arena with lights and full jump course. drug daily
-individual tack cubby for privacy and organization
-individual supplement feeding for maximum customization along with quality grain (Buckeye Nutrition)
-quality clean brome hay and pure alfalfa with forage weighed for every horse

Megan and Edsger MC (Fetse 349 x Jenne C) “Edsger Allen Poe,” owned by Stacy Lynn Lockett, had a more than stellar experience at the NEC dressage show this weekend for not only Edsgers first show but first time off property as well! Edsger was very professional in his intro classes to earn 81%, 78%, and 77%.

the horses have started their field rotations and couldn’t be happier with all this wonderful grass!

don’t forget; if you want your athlete to perform to their highest ability, they need to have adequate turnout! motion is lotion and the more they can move around and be themselves, the more happy they will be to train!

we had a wonderful start to the 2023 season at Flying Fox over the weekend.

Dilynn and Asia brought their A game and earned reserve champion in the 2ft jumpers with smooth and fast rounds out of a very competitive and good sized group. definitely they’re best riding yet!

Luci and Ranger put in very consistent trips in the ground pole division out of another competitive and large group to stay in the top ribbons all weekend! not only was this Luci’s first show but Ranger’s as well and it could not have gone any smoother!

congrats to both girls. they worked very hard this weekend to put in their best rides and help support each other. great job ladies!

all the horses have been double layered and double hayed the last couple days to stay on top of this crazy weather and the barn has been sealed up so it is significantly warmer. the horses don’t seem to mind the cold but I would love to be able to feel my toes again!

we had a great time at the Flying Fox Spooktacular show this past weekend!

Madi DeVenuto piloted Asia on saturday and Dilynn Aufmuth on sunday. both girls had smooth and consistent rounds that earned them 2nd and 3rd placings. great riding ladies!

Megan and Delston also earned two 2nds with their clear rounds in their division.

painting horses, bobbing for apples, good food and fun games made for a wonderful first halloween party! we love that students got a chance to meet each other and make friendships through horses. thank you to everyone that came out and to those that helped set up!

what’s better than a freshly drug ring and a new grid to train? we’re gearing up for the last two Flying Fox shows at the NEC and have room for more team members!

huge congrats to Circle Qu and her OTTB “Scotch” on a successful first outing as a new team! they both had to overcome injuries over the winter and had worked hard to rehab each other to get ready. this was Scotch’a first outing and he was a total rockstar at a new place and that is the real win! the ribbons are icing on the cake. not to mention some lovely comments from the judge. congrats!
