PENNY! I don’t like to create a bunch of excitement with food. Requiring a dog to siittt, waaaaaaaitttt, and RELEASE to eat creates behavioral problems down the road. PENNY is the perfect age to teach calm gets the food every time!
It’s cold outside & the dogs are frisky! After a higher energy activity, it’s helpful to bring the dog’s energy down before putting the dog away in its kennel. 🐾
Never underestimate the countless hours put into dog training. A properly trained SD can change the lives of everyone involved! MOOSE is training to “Find Grace” should his young person take a walkabout. Stay tuned to learn more about his Seizure Response Task.
Congratulations COOPER for holding it together through feed time!! Good boy, Coop!!
MOOSE!! This super talented, very even tempered boy has been enrolled in AACA Serve Training since late August. I’ve purposely held back on sharing his task work on social media. It’s time to start sharing Moose’s talents & training! It’s hard to fathom the amount of training required to produce a true SD. One yr old SD’s in training are NOT capable of being a working SD. A fully trained SD is a huge commitment of time & resources.
COOPER! Coop’s excitement level ranges from mid to high. Learning the settle is key for this young dog. I’ve put a lot of value on the “down” Throughout the day, Cooper is tethered learning to accept the moving pieces of daily life. I first shaped the down & put value on the “place” bring the two together & Cooper had a solid understanding of the settle on place.
COOPER!! Properly introducing a new trainee into a B&T situation , in my opinion, sets the stage for the duration of their program as well as future boarding.
ANNIE is participating in BOSU activities! Side step, push-ups, and square sit. ANNIE obviously appreciates this workout game!
Who doesn’t enjoy a surprise snow!!!
SIMON!! Another way to best utilize “place” while in the home & working. SIMON is heading home for the holidays!!
Leash talk! As dogs are heading home for the holidays, the light weight,4ft leash is an excellent tool to coach your dog!!
