Keeneland Pony Club will once again be hosting Rosie Napravnik for a galloping clinic on 2/17 and has once again graciously offered to open the clinic to those outside of KPC. Tucker is a kid who loves both of his ponies dearly, but doesn’t always care to ride. After Beach boy had to have both of his eyes removed and then was diagnosed with Cushing’s, Tucker has never been more connected with him than now when he gives him his daily meds and changes his blankets when needed ❤️

Cleaning up my kitchen and I pulled the Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine from a backpack that Carson received as a competitors gift at the 2023 Cattail Chase Races . With such a legend on the cover I had to sit down and read the article. I was not super close with Hammy although I would say we got along very well when I rode for him. I don’t ever remember him being grumpy around me. Anyhow, I assume if we’d been closer he’d remind me even more of Dickie Small, whom I was quite close with. A man with a somewhat tough exterior who is just soft and kind underneath. The mumbles, the no BS horsemanship, the war stories etc. This story was enlightening to read some of his early background. What a privilege to have Hammy as a small influence in my career. I always remember him with a great big smile and a happy tune. I guess any time I’ve seen him in recent years he’d be surprised to see me in MD but either way it’s always great to see Hammy. There’s just something about seeing or reading about these older horseman in MD that make me feel at home!

Our pony jockey, Carson Sharp was so proud of how hard his pony ran today and so proud of the work he’s done to condition him! All of that hard work paid off in a very exciting third place finished!
