My name is Ariel Carpenter and I am the breeder behind Pathfinder Pomskies. Pathfinder Pomskies is a small & humble breeding program that was born out of sheer passion of the breed. We have spent the past couple of years under a mentorship; and also researching, learning and preparing for our premiere into the Arctic Spitz community. We are excited to sustainably contribute to this wonderful, athl
etic up-and-coming companion breed as it progresses in both standards and AKC recognition. Sure, cosmetics and colors are undoubtedly important when choosing puppies- but we understand that structure and sound temperaments endlessly trump color genetics. Organizations such as the APKC have been paramount in setting the breed standards and we always strive to follow their guidelines during our journey of producing the happiest and healthiest pomsky puppies you've ever seen! We also go the extra mile with temperament evaluations on our pups to make sure our puppies aren't just going to the families that can pay for them- but the families that are the most ideal match for them. Our program encompasses the following core values, without compromise: Health, Ethics, Communication, & Transparency. All of our dogs are raised in the home and go on adventures with us as family members! It's that time again! I always think it's really cool to show how the puppies change as they age. All of the 'after' pics here are in the 5-6 month range I believe, even though they are technically 7 months old now. I was supposed to post this at their six month birthday but I got distracted in every which way and I get pictures from families at different times but here ya go! ♥
It’s time to officially introduce Pathfinder Raiko- our next generation of stud muffin power! The moment we knew his parents were expecting with our friends over at we knew we had to claim him at birth (the only boy out of 7 pups!) His pedigree is extensive and exemplary. As always, we cater to the importance of temperament and personality and close communication with Southpaw is proving extremely promising- chill but also very confident! He is genetically clear of all breed relevant diseases, charting about 25 lbs and has a color panel of Ee kyky awaw Dd bb dupdup! And as always, he will receive some OFA testing in older age. He’ll be finally joining us tomorrow afternoon and we are over the moon excited! Stay tuned and look forward to many more photos of him both past and present! 💛⚡️❄️
We are joining House Pathfinder with House Southpaw to strengthen the pomsky realm and its lines 🤭 Princess Athena shall meet her betrothed, Prince Raiko this Sunday! A new Pathfinder is on the horizon and our pack will grow by one ⚔️
Took a road trip across the country with these three to visit family down here in our home state of Texas and we are all having a blast so far! ☀️

Had so much fun this last week during Bear’s little visit vacay with us! Watching him play with his daughter was very special to watch and they were glued to each other a majority of the time. Bear will sire his last litter in the fall for another breeder and then he will be officially retired from our program. 🤗

Oh, words cannot describe what a pleasure it’s been to have added this girl to our pack. And the sense of pride knowing she will carry on the best parts of our pathfinder legacy thus far. Pathfinder Athena, please take your time growing up! We are soaking up every second with this OUTSTANDING representative of the breed, both in structure and temperament, while she thrives in puppyhood. 🥰
And lest us not forget the matriarch and den-mother of the pack, and mother to the 9 beautiful pathfinders we’ve sent off into the world so far! Pathfinder Pumpkin! You’d see more of her if she wasn’t the hardest (by far) to take a photo of 😆 The moment she sees me hold up the phone towards her, she’s not having any part of it! This little red, athletic queen is camera shy- and that’s okay with us! We’re so grateful to her and love how much she is enjoying her early retirement and playing with the next generation of Pathfinders 🥰🥳
Pathfinder Valor all grown up! This boy is so special to us for so many reasons! He was apart of our very first litter, the last to go home from that litter, the only pup without blue eyes, and the only pup to leave the U.S.! We are so proud of him and his mama whom he makes very very happy! We love you Kyubi and we appreciate .justine for taking such good care of him🍁🇨🇦❤️
Meet Athena, the prologue of our program’s second chapter! This beautiful wooly girl is an F3x (includes small percentage of American Eskimo to help further the breed as suggested by the APKC) sired by our very own Pathfinder Bear! We’re excited to see how she matures, but we are expecting her to be a more feminine, blue-eyed spitting image of her daddy to carry on his legacy. And yes, she carries for our signature reds! 🥰 She’s charting to be about 22 lbs full grown. She is embark clear (no disease carrier genes!) and her color panel is EE kyky awat DD Bb NDup ✌🏻We pick her up tomorrow. Thank you so much to our friends over at for this wonderful opportunity. She has more health testing ahead of her when she’s older but you can expect her to debut her first litter roughly around the summer/fall of next year 2025! Also- our website is back up! 💜

Pathfinder Glamour at 4 months old- and hard at work too with her amazing logging family here in Washington! All the pups from this litter will be entering their "puppy uglies" stage right about now, but by 8-10 months old, their coats will have matured and they will fully blossom into themselves. Look forward to more updates along the way of course ♥

If you told me I was going to be pausing my program after working so hard to build it up- I probably wouldn't have believed you! After all, I've found so much consistent success with waitlists and matching with incredible families! But sometimes life throws you a curve ball. While I know this breeding program is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done in my life (and I'll always be looking forward to satisfying that itch to get it started back up again)- sometimes you have to make space to attend to the more important things in life that need attention. For me? That's nurturing my marriage. It's applying to nursing school after getting laid off from my illustration job. It's spending time with family. It's setting the pathway to experience motherhood myself one day.
Through both my mentorship AND litters I had the privileges of raising- I've learned SO much. I've also made mistakes. And the knowledge I've gained will serve me tremendously when I get to pick up where I left off. My program will be even better next time around. I'll have more room, funds, and a more concise game plan on how we contribute and better this breed in our own special way while also catering to high standards in genetics, health testing and proper structure. We'll always be a small, intimate program of course (quality over quantity!) and continue to specialize in our signature: the beautiful and captivating reds. But mark my words- Pathfinder Pomskies will one day be known as the program with the best reds in North America. "Home of the Red Pomsky." And is it a little scary to work so hard, gain such good traction, and have to lose all of that momentum and eventually start again from scratch? Absolutely. But if I did it once, I can do it again- better than ever.
I will still continue in helping the illustrations for the American Pomsky Kennel Club behind the scenes. My website will be down until we're properly up and running again BUT I'll still be active on our socials; albeit posting much less, but still occasionally posting memories, our continued adventures with Pumpkin and Jake, and updates from our pathfinder families as pups continue to grow- and even sometimes share litter news updates from breeder friends I've made along the way. I'm intentionally using the word "pause" instead of "ending" for a reason. ;)
From the bottom of my heart, to all of our families, followers, fellow breeders and admirers- THANK YOU! Your support has meant the world to me and our dogs. I look forward to continuing as soon as I'm able to do so.

This is our final week with this beautiful litter, and likely our last batch of reds for some time. It's always bittersweet- the end of my journey with these little guys is both the hardest part and best part of breeding to me. They won't remember me, but I'll remember them for the rest of my life- including their little sister that didn't get to grow up with them. I can't wait for them all to start their new life adventures with their families and make them so incredibly fulfilled and happy. My job here is just about done 🥲✨

One of our proven studs, Pathfinder Bear, had a date with miss Rio from our local friends over at CJ White's Pomeranians today! This will be her first litter. These will be standard sized, multi-generational pomskies with a small percentage of eskimo to help improve the breed. They will have easy to groom coats, mostly blue eyes and all have husky masks. And yes- reds are possible in this pairing! Go reach out to them if you're interested in joining their waitlist or following Rio's journey for updates ♥
