Polk County, St. Croix County, Pierce County, and Dunn County. Our Animal Humane Officers and Animal Control Officers enforce legal ordinances and laws governing animals. We recognize the importance of effective animal care and control programs by protecting animals against unnecessary cruelty and suffering, all aspects of mistreatment, abuse, neglect, abandonment, and protecting public safety by preventing animal bites, attacks, and accidents caused by unattended roaming animals. also promotes responsible pet ownership, educating the public on animal overpopulation issues, encouraging spay/neuter, proper animal care and handling, animal adoption for healthy and behaviorally sound animals to good homes AND offer low cost Microchipping to the community to ensure pets are reunited in a timely manner. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of our community members like you. We had a busy last couple of weeks. We trapped and removed 13 kittens and 2 mommas from the Town of Star Praire and Springfield. With the gracious assistance of Community Cat Coalition in Rice Lake, all were taken in by them. If your are interested in adopting, please contact them at (715) 736-2287. Some days I receive calls alittle out of our norm. Today I received a call of an injured Hawk on County H Star Prairie. Well, I responded and simply put the carrier down and the Hawk jumped right in. He had an injured wing and must have trusted me to take care of him. I transported him to the Raptor Center. They will be caring for the Broadwing Hawk until he is ready to be returned where he was found. Thank you Raptor Center for taking care of him.

*dumped kitten* We have successfully trapped the tiny kitten you dumped behind Walmart in New Richmond. This baby girl would not have survived if it wasn't for the people who saw you and reported it (with video evidence). ***MICROCHIP CLINIC*** DACS will be holding a microchip clinic September 16th at the St.Joseph Town Hall from 10am to 2pm. The cost is $20.00 per cat or dog and dogs must be current on rabies. This microchip clinic is NOT limited to Town residents, all are invited to get your animals Microchipped. Thank you in advance for your continued support
It takes a village. An update on the 2 pit moms and their 15 pups living out of a vehicle. And a huge thank you to Eau Claire County Humane Association - ECCHA for taking in all 17 of these dogs.
*KAYAK RESCUE* Sometimes our job takes us off land and into the water. A huge thanks to the neighbors in the Town of Richmond for the assistance. This dog is safe and back home with her owners.
Kittens are now 5 weeks old and playing like crazy. Their favorite game is "king of the scratching post".
Enjoy 5 minutes of 3 week old kittens learning to play. These guys and girl still need names. 4 males (including the tabby) and 1 female (black). Drop your ideas in the comments. All 5 kittens and mom will be available for adoption through Sabastian's Sanctuary when they are old enough and vetted.
