An important command I always teach my clients for when opening front/back doors; “freeze” (stay) while owner enters, & “defrost” if/when permitting pup to follow & enter
-This gives the owner control of the situation & prevents unwanted chaotic behaviors from a puppy/dog charging thru unwarranted.
-These commands are ideal for all dogs (especially large breeds) & their families, especially those with small children, elderly, or disabled -anyone who might easily knocked down or tripped

One of my clients, Joe (Raelyn Ellis Jaramillo) and their pup, Jasmine!
They have had the hardest time getting her to get into cars/trucks!
I started wondering if she just had a little baby fear of jumping into a narrow space / area, so, I decided to test my theory! I brought over an old coffee table. First, I had Jazz practice jumping on and off of it. Initially, I had to pick her up and put her on it, followed by rewarding her and showing her that it’s not a scary thing! Within minutes, we had her jumping on and off, she was acting like she was training for the doggy Olympics! And boy, was she proud of herself! Once we established that jumping on and off of narrow spaces / areas wasn’t such a scary concept, we moved on to the truck!
And once again, I lifted jazz up, placed her in the truck and rewarded her, showing her that it’s nothing to be concerned about, and then had her jump out of the truck.
This video is of Jazz, just minutes after jumping on and off her platform (coffee table).
Joe and Raelyn have been struggling to get Jazz to do this since they first got her, almost 2 months ago!
I am so unbelievably proud of Joe and Jazz!

My newest client & her puppies are doing so good! This is only their third class with me and they’ve already improved so dramatically! The first day I went over, it was complete chaos! The fact that the neighbors dog was barking and doing everything in its power to get their attention & distract them, the two pups remained attentive and my client was able to maintain control!
