Here's what Aussies and Border Collies were meant to be taking part in. As you see, they're sheppard dogs. In our language, that means they just need an activity, a "job" in order to be a balanced dog. For this, it's necessary to fulfill what is genetically encoded in their breed over the course of many generations.
One of the most common cases I get calls on that involve Border Collies, Australian Sheppies, or any "working class" dog, are regarding that they have "to much energy," or are excessively anxious and hyper, even destructive or aggresive in rare cases.

But an owner may not be aware that they have to exercise their dog more often, and not just physically, but more important, mentally. If they don't exercise their brains, by getting challenging yet fun stimulation, you can walk them for 5 hours straight and they'll still have 100% of their energy in their tank after.
Let me know if I can help you, and reach out if you'd like to learn the best approach to finding the right activity for you and your Sheppard, that fits into today's modern hustle and bustle, routines, and budget!

For all you Border Collie parents out there! This is definitely one easy way to keep them exercised, both mentally and physically, which they need lots of!

Study: at first the boy and his dog are playful, alone. The next moment a loose dog enters the frame, withajor excitement and it's unknown if he would attack. Next the G. Shepherd notices that loose dog and immediately goes into protective mode. What's amazing is, there was no prolonged fighting, zero post-attak aggression, and GS retreats to create a barrier between the attacking dog and the boy, by putting him in a pocket of protection. This gives the boys mom enough time to retrieve the boy, as the attacking dog is retreating. I'm sure he learned his.lesson.
The real issue is neither the boy and his dog, nor the other dog- it's the owner of the loose dog.
If you can't control your dog in your home, and can't stop your dog from running after people, the next time you may not be so lucky. A car could've hit him. Someone could've shot or hurt him. Or if he would've continued aggression the GD would have gone into kill mode. Either way, it's not a good day for the loose dog or the owner, which is why it's critically important you understand your dogs behaviors and how to guide him/her as a leader. A strong and knowledgeable leader's dog would never have ran away from its owner in the first place.
Consult a professional and avoid the next incident possibly being in your life.

Thanks!!
