Available for adoption through the TIP Program

Ezra is a 2 year old BLM Mustang Gelding, gathered from Swasey, UT HMA. He is brown, and currently stands about 13.3 hh. Ezra is super sweet and is a blast to work with. He is VERY smart, and with a slow, confident approach to his training, he has progressed through his TIP requirements and is looking to find his person. He loves scratches and treats (especially watermelon), and will make a flashy, reliable partner for someone! I am very excited to see what the future brings for this boy!

Adoption fee is $125, with an approved application through the BLM. Located in Western Colorado (near Grand Junction), shipping throughout the US can be arranged.
Contact me through messenger or call/text (970)216-2466 of you are interested in learning more about Ezra, or to begin the adoption process!

Available upon completion of TIP requirements

Ezra is a 2 year old BLM Mustang Gelding, gathered from Swasey, UT HMA. He is brown, and currently stands about 13.3 hh. Ezra is super sweet and is a blast to work with. He is VERY smart, but he tends to overthink new things, and needs a slow, reassuring approach to training. For this reason, I would prefer he find an adopter who has experience working with young horses or mustangs. He loves scratches and treats, and will make a flashy, reliable partner for someone! I am very sad to be letting this boy go.

Adoption fee is $125, with an approved application through the BLM. Located in Western Colorado (near Grand Junction), shipping throughout the US can be arranged.

Meet tag number 5673- now named Greta!

Greta is a 3 year old mare from Sulphur, UT HMA. This girl is so calm and curious, and she has impressed me with how brave she is- she has shown very little fear, even with being trailered for 5 hours yesterday and introduced to a new place and starting training! Greta will certainly be an incredible partner for someone!

She will be available for adoption upon completion of her TIP training requirements.

Update! I apologise for not posting more updates- the last couple of weeks have been crazy busy with training horses, working, and figuring out starting graduate school this fall. All of the horses have been doing fantastic, and I picked up a new TIP mustang yesterday! I will introduce her in a separate post.

Ezra's TIP requirements are getting closer to being met. He is a very sweet horse, but he has taken longer to build up his trust, and I have been following his lead and taking things slow. He halters, leads, and picks up his front feet. He will be ready to find an adopter for before long! I really love this horse, it is going to be a hard goodbye when he gets adopted.

Fantasia (my OK EMM mare) is doing really well. She is so smart and willing, and I couldn't be happier with the progress that we have made. I have been focusing on lots of ground work to lay a solid foundation, and she has made incredible progress! While she is my Extreme Mustang Makeover horse, I am focusing on our relationship and having her relax and enjoy attention- those things will make her a great partner for someone for a lifetime.

Mustang update!

Bryce (to be known as Jasper at his new home) is leaving today to travel to his new home in Wyoming. I am going to miss him, but he is going to excel in his new home!

Cache made the long trip to Oklahoma last week, and has settled in and is doing well.

Dolcé has found her perfect person, and will be traveling to western Utah in the next week. She has met all of her TIP requirements, and is SO sweet and fun!

I am picking up 2 Mustangs on Monday, the 29th- my Oklahoma Extreme Mustang Makeover horse, and another horse to TIP train. Keep an eye out to see who comes home with me next!

I have been having a blast working with the new boys! Having 2 to work with has been really fun, because I can see their learning differences and work on bettering my skills as a trainer by working them through different things.
This is Bryce (tag 7710). He is super curious, smart, and a big time cuddler- he loves all types of attention. He is very bold, and has made incredible progress towards meeting his TIP requirements. He will be available for adoption upon the completion of his TIP training.

I had a great (and exhausting) day picking up the new mustangs! The BLM staff at the Delta, Utah are amazing to work with, and I had a blast going over there. I got 2 adorable, sweet boys today! I already got first touches and the tags off of both of them!

Tag 7710 is a 2 year old bay gelding from Swasey UT HMA

Tag 7597 is a 2 year old grey gelding from Chloride Canyon, UT HMA

These boys will be available for adoption upon their completion of TIP Training requirements.

What do I do as a TIP Trainer?
Officially, a TIP Trainer gentles and halter trains branded BLM wild horses or burros, then finds them a new home.
However, TIP training is so much more than that to me. Anyone who knows me knows that I have always loved horses- and communicated with animals immensely better than with other people. I am much more comfortable hanging out with a wild horse than I am having a conversation with another human. The transformation that mustangs undergo as they learn to trust is incredible- and it is an honor to be a part of it. TIP training allows me to be a part of this process, while finding the horses loving homes. I am helping bridge the gap between the thousands of horses in BLM holding facilities, and potential adopters who don't have the facilities or abilities to handle a completely wild horse. I am able to educate people about how awesome these horses are, and help the horses (and their people) have bright, successful futures. I couldn't be happier being a part of this program, and can't wait to see where it takes me!
Pictured below Zyana, the mustang that quite literally changed my life by showing me how amazing these horses are!

Today, I said goodbye to Arya as she went to her new family. Goodbyes are hard, but new beginnings are exciting- it is so fun to see other people get so excited about their new family member! I am working on a video of Arya's transformation, and will be posting it soon! Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of Arya meeting her new people!

Yesterday I drove to Delta, Utah, to pick up my first Mustang to TIP train! It was a long but very rewarding day. Going to a BLM holding facility was a very interesting, fun experience. There were about 75 TIP eligible horses to choose from, picking one was a challenge! I ended up choosing number 7696, a 2 year old grey mare. Her name is now Arya, and she is already enjoying scratches! I can't wait to continue working with her! She will be available for adoption through the BLM once she has met the TIP training requirements (leading, general handling, picking up her feet, and loading in the trailer). Message me to get more information!

I am Paige Burnham, a Colorado native who is working to help wild Mustangs transition to their lives as domestic horses and riding partners. I was accepted as a TIP trainer by the Mustang Heritage Foundation late last year, but due to COVID restrictions and scheduling, I made the decision to start training this year. I am picking up my first Mustang to TIP train tomorrow, 2/3/21. I am beyond excited to start this journey and can't wait to share it with you!
