Django enjoying the snow
We got a big wet heavy snowfall and these dogs are pretty happy about it!!
Nat Nat enjoying the snow! I love it. All of our Airedales love the snow too!
Airedale play group
Enjoying short breaks outside so we don’t get too hot 🥵
Summer fun!
VIsion got to try out the pool today, but she liked fighting with the water hose more. She is such a fun little one. Her personality is coming through a little more every day.
She is 11.5 weeks old. She will be up for adoption in a few weeks (once she’s fully vaccinated).
She’s doing excellent with potty training and learning some basic commands. If you or someone you know is interested in being considered please contact us. She is going to make an excellent best friend ❤️
Kong toy
I posted yesterday about a frozen kong so I will link the one we use and the recipe in the comments. But, let’s talk about Kongs. We think they are worth the price tag!
In this video I have some dry kibble in her kong. You can even use this as a feeding time. I wanted her to have something to do while I did some office work. So she quickly realized that moving it released the kibble. It kept her occupied for several minutes and after she took a nap. There are other types of slow feeders and we have tried some of those. But a lot times they are plastic and Airedales (ours anyway) will just chew them and break them. Making the higher price point of the kong worth it.
Also my house is messy. We have been gone 4 weekends in a row, but it’s important to note we don’t puppy proof our house. However, in the video she is not at all interested in Lainey’s shoes. She’s focused on the appropriate toy. This is SO important. Puppies get in to trouble when they are curious. Giving them things we want them to chew on will save a lot of frustration for everyone!
The frozen option is reserved for Kennel (crate) time only. For a couple of reasons. 1. It makes the pup/dog look forward to the kennel time. 2. It can be messy.
Not all of our dogs like the kong. Django, Josie, and Daisy sniff it and walk away. I suspect it’s because we didn’t introduce it when they were young and they don’t think they should have to work for kibble 😜
But, all of our younger ones love it and the frozen option really helps with teething.
Thanks for hanging with us and I hope these tips/tricks are helpful ❤️
Learning new things.
She is so eager to learn. It’s early and she listened with distractions!! Airedales are so smart that they will either be the best dog you’ve ever owned or they will own you.
Training can be an extension of your love for the dog. It can also be cruel. So I encourage you to always research your trainer and their methods.
Smart baby
Viz has been home less than 24 hours and has learned sit…she’s had NO accidents…and thinks cats are pretty cool.
She is one smart little girl. ❤️❤️❤️
Check out these water babies! Mason and Mila
Smart guy!
Lenny is settling in and learning all sorts of new things from his new mama. She said he’s basically potty trained 🎉
He is a bit nippy though. Us Airedale owners know all too well about those mouthy early months. I suggested some toys, but what other tips and tricks have worked for you with your new babies?
Eating sticks 🙄
Those of you with a Josie puppy who is obsessed with eating sticks. They quite literally get it from their mama 😂
Fun outdoors
A slide, a hanging rope, a tree to chew on, and mom. What more could these pups ask for during play time on a cool Missouri afternoon.
Lenny (Bucky) is home sweet home and learning new tricks already. He has made his new Mama very happy!!
