We have several varying percentage mares, and a tier 1 (100%) stud we imported from Belgium in 2016!

Well, we were short-handed and definitely slow at advertising and getting our foals sold! 🤦🏼‍♀️ haven’t advertised this guy at all yet this year, so here’s your chance at him!

High percentage by our imported stallion and out of one of our most true European Brabant mares. 😍 he’s a cool one! Bay roan and sweet as can be! So willing to please.

All the weanlings except two! Plus their little palomino babysitter 😂

I love watching the horses dynamics in a herd. The bay roan and mini palomino are always together and the sorrel is a little loner. The other four stick together. Horses can be so cliquey 😳😂

Lastly, does anyone’s horses actually use the shelters in their pasture? Ours only use it for shade in the heat of summer. Snow and rain?? They just stand in the open. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Mr. Luka hangin’ out with the camels today. 😂 if anyone needs their horse desensitized to large scary animals, bring them over. 😂

Also, luka is lookin good, but maaaan that forelock! Whhhhyyy. Tis the season. 😑 anyone want to come brush the burrs out of all our horses??? 🤦🏼‍♀️

What would you know??? We bred our blue quarter horse mare to a blue half draft we raised and what do you know? We got a sorrel! 🤦🏼‍♀️ good thing he’s a cute sorrel! Look at that little snip on his nose 🥰

Here were the color probabilities when you breed blue to blue:
56% blue roan
18% red roan
18% black
6% sorrel

I think we need to hit up Vegas with those odds!

Last week we had a beautiful blue filly out of one of our favorite blue mares, Fiona! She was perfect and healthy and everything went smoothly. Until 12 hours had passed and Fiona still hadn’t delivered her placenta even with all our efforts to help her. So off to the vet we went. He was able to get it out and then flushed her out and put her on an antibiotic. So all is well now and momma and baby are healthy. But man, if it isn’t one thing, it’s another! Breeding is not for the faint of heart! There’s so many highs as well as some lows. You can do everything right and still run into complications. Sometimes things happen for no good reason at all and there’s no explanation to tell you why. Something that didn’t seem like a huge deal quickly turned into an emergency. That is why it is soooo important to educate ourselves and be ready to act when a situation calls for it.

4 healthy foals on the ground and 4 more to go. Fingers crossed for no more complications! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

This filly is 96% Brabant!! Ya, you read that right! Basically as high as you can get without importing. She will be registered with the ABA and the Belgian Corp. Wowzers!! Check out that cute little head and that big hip! 😍😍😍😍😍

We were going to check on cows with friends and were short one saddle horse, so we figured she was calm enough we’d throw a saddle on her and see what happened! She’d never had a saddle on her before and carried this guy all around the mountain with no problem! She may make a good riding horse yet! 😍😍

••Transformation Tuesday!•• Meet Clancy! This is a half draft we bred while our imported stud was still too young to breed all our Brabant mares, so we crossed some of them with our Blue Balentine Quarter Horse stud. This guy has turned out pretty cool! Out of one of our 92% mares.
