Really hoping all my followers from Poodlepupswithprincipalpuppies page will like/follow this page as well.

I will continue to post on both pages, but may have to move all posts to this page, and no longer post to Poodlepupswithprincipalpuppies, if I can not get the issues with that page resolved.

I hate to do that since i have had the Poodlepupswithprincipalpuppies page for over 6 years and it had 25 times the followers of this page!

Also if you don't follow us on Instagram, I would encourage you to begin doing so! It is also Poodlepupswithprincipal. See picture.

Thanks for your support!

Moyen (small standard) size male poodles..they are red/apricot and white parti and abstract pattern....older pups..weights will vary at maturity between high teens and mid twenties in weight as adults...see collar color with description of each puppy's personality:

"Meet Frosty! Don't let his size fool you, he's still a playful baby. He's a cuddle bug and just wants to give you some hugs! He has the red collar.

Meet "Pumpkin Pie", he's a little shy at first but he's a big pleaser and wants to make you happy. Once he warms up, he will shower you with kisses! He has the bones collar.

Meet "Mash", the smallest of these boys, he doesn't let that get him down. He's playful and loves to hop when he runs! He has a camouflage with pink collar.

Meet "Tater!" He's playful and curious to go out, sniffing around! He puts up with all his brother's crazy antics! He has a blue plaid collar.

Meet "Acorn!" He is a friendly boy who just wants to cuddle his friends. As far as crawling under his brothers, just to be near them! So, while he may be shy at first, he will be a loyal friend! He has a dark green camouflage collar.

It isn't uncommon to get updates from owners on how the puppy/dog they got from me is doing.

What happened today doesn't happen often! I got an email from a former puppy of mine who hacked their owner's email and sent me an update themselves! Please read below for the email Roxie sent me..too cute..I enjoyed it so much and believe my followers will as well!

I left Poodles with Principal one year ago – November 18, 2023. My new parents drove me home, and then introduced me to a big back yard to play in. We came inside and played more, and then bedtime came. I missed you and your family and the other puppies, and I started crying. My new Mom came to the room to sit with me and play Puppy Sleeping Music, and SHE fell asleep! I cried for a few more nights, and then settled in. At first I lived in a gated community, but now I have the run of the house. When I got spayed this winter, we had a big snow, and I used my Elizabethan collar as a snow shovel – I loved to see the snow fly when I shoveled it in the air. I have many toys to play with, and I love to go for walks around the town square and meet people. I stand on my back legs and wave my front paws in the air as people come to see me. The vet techs love me when I go to the doctor, and they all want to take me home with them ;>). When my parents took me to Door County this summer, people flocked to meet me and commented on how social I am, and how beautiful my coat is. People would cross the street just to meet me. One woman stopped and turned off her car in the middle of the road so she could say how pretty I am – she had never seen such a lovely colored coat.

Given your experience in education, you will be happy to know that I attend school almost every day. Mom takes me outside for physical education – I love chasing balls and playing keep away from her and Dad, and then I have language arts class where I review words like “heel, sit, stay, come.” When I get tired and lie down, Mom takes me inside for a good drink of water, brushes my teeth and my hair, and then I take a nap for a few hours until afternoon play time begins!

Thank you and your family for giving me a great start in life – I love meeting people and do not mind being touched – my groomer, doctor and the vet techs appreciate that.

How many of you have ever had a child dress up as you for Halloween? :-)
This will certainly be a first for me. Many of you will remember an August visit I had from little Wade and his family. He was a young boy who had several eye surgeries and would probably eventually be completely blind.

I recently received an update from his mom.

He recently won a character award at school..see pic

For wear your favorite color to school, Wade wore the pink Poodlepupswithprincipal shirt I gave him. Before he left we rubbed puppies on it so it would smell like my poodle puppies. Wade's mom said that he made his teacher smell it! See picture of Wade and his teacher.

Lastly, mom told me that he is dressing up as me for Halloween..he is having a picture I took of him and one or my puppies printed on a hat..they are working on the rest of the outfit to resemble me. When I told my 16 year old daughter, Elsie, this she told me that Wade better get a pillow to show a big belly and shave his head so he is bald..no respect! :-)

I also included pictures below from his visit here near the beginning of August.

To the best of my recollection, I have never sold a puppy that went to South Dakota for its new home..Today that changed! Casey flew from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Peoria, via Chicago, to pick up her mini poodle puppy that she named Merv. We met at the Peoria Airport where she will fly back out later tonight. Casey told me that Ryan, her husband, and she had spent quite time looking for the right poodle breeder. Ryan and Casey, thanks so much for trusting me with purchase your puppy purchase. I appreciate it!

One of my favorite parts of my responsibilities that go with my business is meeting new people, and becoming friends with the people who purchase puppies from.

Super excited about tomorrow getting the privilege to meet Ann and her 5 year old son, Wade. Although they won't be getting a puppy from me, their visit is one I look forward to, perhaps, like no other. In the 20+ years I have been breeding dogs, this was a first, entirely unique request I received through Ann, who is Wade's (pictured below) mom. Below was the initial message I received from Ann:

"Hello,
I am reaching out to see if you could make my son’s poodle dreams come true. For some reason my 5 year old son has become obsessed with poodles. He is a very special boy and has overcome a lot of difficulties in his life due to a birth defect affecting his eyes. We’re trying to make all of his dreams come true while he has vision and his number one request right now is to have a poodle puppy. We cannot have a puppy right now because we have two other dogs but I was hoping we could take him to visit some poodles / puppies one day. Would you be willing to let us pay you to teach him a little about poodles and visit with some of your dogs? I know it is an odd request but we are just parents trying to make the best of the cards we’ve been dealt and make our sons dreams come true. If this seems like something you’d be able to do, I can send you more information about my son. Thank you for considering our request.
Ann"

We touched base on the phone, and I learned that Wade has had around 10 surgeries on his eyes, and more than likely his will eventually go blind. According to his mom, Wade has changed his middle name to "MiniPoodle". Tomorrow morning they will make the 3 hour or so drive down from the Chicago area to spend an hour or hour and a half with me and my poodles.

Can't tell you how thrilled I am being able to do this. The thing I miss most about being a principal is spending time with the kids.

Wade wants to learn everything he can about mini poodles..I have several idea about topics I want to cover, but looking for suggestions from my followers, especially topics that wouldn't seem so obvious, or topics that cover unique things about poodles. Please help by providing topics in the comments!
Of course, I will not be charging them anything, but am considering setting up a GoFund me page to help cover some of Wade's medical expenses.
I will follow up with a post after their visit tomorrow.

Yesterday I turned 54, and over the last year or so, more than in the past, I have thought about and considered short and long term goals/plans for the future. As i am getting older, the physical responsibilities become more challenging. It is possible within the next 5 years that my wife and I will become empty nesters, meaning even more of the on site responsibilities will fall to me. I know many of my followers have not purchased a puppy from me, but plan to. Others have bought in the past, and plan on buying another puppy at some point in the future..this post may help.

If the Lord wills, these are my short and long term goals/plan.

Short term goals/plans:
- I am expecting one more goldendoodle litter in the next two months..this will be my last goldendoodle litter.
- the percent of litters that will have toy size puppies will increase, although I will still focus on mini size poodles, with occasional moyen size puppies.
- I will continue to specialize in red and apricot poodles, but increased number of pups that are sable, phantoms, chocolate, parti, black etc
- beginning in late 2025, I will have one or two cavapoo litters a year
-continue to move some responsibilities to family members or others..for example, most of my adult mamas live, as pets, in guardian homes of family and friends. One family in particular is raising the litters of the mamas that live with them as guardians. (Thanks Aunt Karen! It is a big help.)

Long term goals/plans (in 5 years my wife and i will be able to start withdrawing from our IRAs):
- in 5 years have only a secondary role in the business, passing on the primary roles to family members/friends/others.
- in 5 years have the number of adult dogs (and litters) I personally raise significantly reduced..mainly through natural retirement of the adult dogs I now have.
-in 5 years, if my family members or others are not able to take on the primary responsibilities of the business on, then greatly scale down the the number of adults and litters to single digits.

Of course, circumstances can change and the Lord is Sovereign of over all. As it stands now, this is where I am hoping for the future of Poodlepupswithprincipal.

I threw in some pictures of family members, some of which may take on increased responsibilities in the coming years. Do you think I can trust the future of Poodlepupswithprincipal to these hooligans? Never mind, don't answer that! :-)

Update on Jazzy, the 3 month old mini poodle that was diagnosed with Addison's disease:

I have been breeding dogs for over 20 years...to my knowledge, only one time previously, 15 years ago, another puppy that someone bought from me was diagnosed Addison's disease. When I found out that Jazzy was diagnosed, I immediately thought about that other dog, Teddy, who belongs to Norm and Gracie. I knew it would take a special family to adopt Jazzy, and wondered if they would contact me.

I made the post a few days ago, offering Jazzy to the right home for free. A couple days after that Norm reached out to me, and let me know if I couldn't find the right home for Jazzy that he and his wife would considering taking her.

Today, when the other person who expressed interest fell through, I contacted Norm and Gracie. They told me they had been thinking about Jazzy and felt it was fate that Jazzy would end up with them. They will be picking up Jazzy in two weeks, after they get back from a vacation to Iceland (sidebar...very jealous...Iceland is on my bucket list).

From my interactions with Norm and Gracie over the years, I have been so impressed with the character of people they are and the care they provide for their dogs..Teddy, although he has Addison's, is 15 and healthy. Although the care of a dog with Addison's is minimal, the costs each year, according to Norm, run about $1,000.

I will post more on this once they pick Jazzy up in a couple weeks. In the meantime, I asked them to send me a picture of Teddy...below is 15 year old Teddy.

When I first made the post about Jazzy, I had a handleful of people who had bought a puppy from me or had deposits on puppies contact me to see if there is any chance that their puppy had Addison's. That is a reasonable question and I anticipated people contacting me. I knew it would naturally cause some angst with followers..that is understandable.

On Facebook, all of us often put out the best about ourselves and our lives..I am no different. I am saddened by Jazzy having Addison's, but want my buyers to know that in spite of trying to go the extra mile to sell healthy puppies, there are bumps in the road. I will learn from this, and it will affect any potential breeding I do with Jazzy's mom. She was a first time mama...in a future post, I will explain how Jazzy's Addison's diagnosis affect my decision making in the future.

Pictured is Teddy, Norm and Gracie's 15 year old poodle that has Addison's. Then Jazzy is pictured in the other photos.

Words can't express my gratitude to Norm and Gracie for agreeing to take Jazzy!

Received this picture and message this morning from Patti.
Poppy looks like a Teddy Bear in this picture!

Hi Frank, just wanted to tell you how much we love Poppy. She will be three in September. I’ve had 6 poodles in my lifetime and she is by far the sweetest! She brings joy to our family every day. Thank you!

Please read the entire description before responding:

Jazzy is a red miniature female poodle puppy, who will be coming back to me on Sunday. She was recently diagnosed with Addison's disease, which is congenital. Addison's disease is a condition that requires lifetime support/care.

She is free to the right home. This is not the puppy for someone who does not have the money to purchase a puppy, as she will need vet care and support for the rest of her life, that will require more money than what a dog without a congenital defect would require.

Message me if you are interested in her.

Conditions to be considered:
1) you have made previous contact with me looking for a puppy, or have already purchased a puppy from me in the past.
2) you discuss Addison's disease with your vet ahead of time, so you understand the care she will need. Then provide your vet as a reference.
3) you have owned a dog previously.
Jazzy is sweet and is expect to live a normal length of life and have a good quality of love (with proper vet care and support). She would be good with other pets and children as she has a playful and outgoing personality.

Please excuse the piece of grass in her face..she had just played outside before this picture was taken.

Addisons disease is something that is covered by my health guarantee...Jazzy current owners are getting a free poodle puppy in the future as a replacement. They struggled with the decision to keep Jazzy and get a full refund, but their lifestyle would make it difficult to meet the demands of having a dog with Addison's. They made the right decision for Jazzy as well. Please private message or call/text me if interested.
