Capy Thanksgiving!
Our capybaras eat over 5 pounds of food a day… so trust us, they fully support going back for seconds. And thirds. And fourths.

Enrichment is a big part of daily life here at but it does differ between species. Especially with animals that have a higher Intelligence we are always working on way to emotionally, physically, and mentally enrich their lives. Today we proudly honor all who have served our country and the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms. We also want to recognize our own veteran, Daniel — co-founder of Wine Country Zoo.

Daniel’s dedication continues every day through his work caring for animals, building habitats, and inspiring the next generation to respect and protect wildlife. His leadership and heart are a huge part of who we are as a team and a community.

When the temps start to drop - crocs move inside ❤️ you can now see Saegyl, the African dwarf croc, on display for the winter! She’s will move back outside in spring and eventually be part of our African Trails tour and Croc Walk that’s in the works.
