We are saddened to hear of the loss of Retired Harrodsburg Police Departments K9 Officer Muk.

He passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, after a battle with cancer.

Her name was Nyla and she lived a short life in a abusive & neglectful home. She was 30 pounds underweight and had sores all over her body from being forced to live in a kennel. Her owner poured cleaning chemicals on her body to punish her for going to the bathroom in the home. Nyla lived in hell…

When I met Nyla at the emergency room, she had little to no life in her eyes. Her organs were failing and she was seizing. It didn’t take the doctors very long to realize that the only option was humane euthanasia. I held her, kissed her and apologized for the life she was forced to live. I cried when she crossed over, but in my heart I knew she was in a better place. I chose to cremate her and the ashes will be returned to me in a beautiful box. Nyla, I barely knew you, but I will honor you for the rest of my life…

Tonight, an Indiana female K9 handler is fighting for her life as she was shot in the head while conducting a K9 sniff on a traffic stop.

K9 Officer Seara Burton, Richmond Police Department, is a 4-year veteran with the department. Officer Burton and K9 Brev graduated from Vohne Liche Kennels together in April of this year. Her chief also stated she is engaged and was set to be married next weekend.

We know she is a warrior. Our thoughts are with her family & department during this tragic time. God speed. 🖤🦮
