Niall Horne is a 2-3 year old Hungarian Pumi. Not a Puli. A Pumi is a herding dog with very high energy, intense focus and a strong drive to work.
Niall is waiting for his forever home with our friends Motley Zoo Animal Rescue
Niall's motto is "BALL IS LIFE!" He might change that motto if he is given a different job.
If you rate the energy level of a high energy Border Collie on a scale of 1-10, they would rate about a 7. However, Niall would rate a 10!
With that energy comes an incredibly smart dog whose goal in life is to work.
Did I mention that he is high energy?
Niall needs a human who matches his high energy, but we suspect that Niall would outlast just about any human. Outdoor time is a must and a big, fenced in back yard is essential for him.
Niall loves to play soccer and Treiball. Treiball is an urban herding game where dogs must gather and drive a large ball into a net. It's a great sport for city dogs who need an intense exercise outlet. We have a few dog training facilities in Seattle that offer Treiball, including Zoom Room, Four Paws Sport Center and Seattle Agility Center.
Speaking of agility, Niall would thrive in competitive agility!
Niall is great with humans and he gets along with bigger dogs who match his energy. Probably not a good match for small dogs or cats! Older, dog savvy, high energy kids would be ok.
Like all working dogs, Niall loves to work. You wont find him watching Netflix and chilling on the couch.
If you are intrigued by Niall, please do some research on this amazing breed.
You can start here: https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/pumi/
This breed is not for everyone. Niall's focus and fixation are intense. I love that about him. Maybe you will too!
You can find out more about Niall by visiting www.motleyzooanimalrescue.org or, if you think you may be interested in giving Niall a job...er...home...please email [email protected] (Give them a few days to respond. They are really busy right now.)

Meet Domino!
We featured Domino last November and can't believe he hasn't been adopted yet.
Domino is a 27-year-old registered Paint gelding who stand about 15 hands high.
According to our friends at Save A Forgotten Equine - SAFE Domino had lived an easy life in the backyard of a home in Woodinville since 2008.
His aging owner was selling half the property in order to stay in their own house and couldn’t keep Domino.
He hadn’t seen a vet since his gelding in 2009, but the family kept up on his hoof trims, worming and vaccines. He’s a healthy hunk of a boy, who faced neglect if placed into the wrong hands, due to the owners age and ability to safely rehome.
This boy has a TON of life, and is a volunteer favorite here at SAFE. Domino’s best home would be as the constant companion to another gentle mare or gelding that tends to be on the submissive side.
After introducing him to a few horses, it is clear that Domino likes to be the leader and as long as the buddy doesn’t mind, they are best of friends. Domino is very friendly and kind, a very nice horse to have around!"
We know Domino's forever home is out there!
If you want more information about this amazing horse, please visit
his horse page on the Safe Horses website.

Well, the Limelight Magic has struck again!
Darla, the horse we planned on featuring this week has been adopted!
Congratulations Save A Forgotten Equine - SAFE!
Hang tight, friends, while we create a feature for a different horse! =)
Meet Darla, from Save A Forgotten Equine - SAFE
Darla is an 11-year-old Appaloosa who is 14.1 hands high. She is mostly white but she does have freckles in the summer.
Darla has been staying with our friends at Save A Forgotten Equine since October of 2021.
She's a bit shy so it takes her a bit to warm up to people. It may take several visits for her to warm up to her new family, so please keep that in mind. It's not personal. 😊 Once she gets to know her humans, she is very relaxed with them. You just have to earn her trust first.
Some of Darla's favorite things to do are napping, having breakfast with her horse friends, more napping, time with her human and more napping in fresh shavings.
Although Darla is shy, she does love being with other horses - mostly geldings and mares. At the moment, she is serving as a comfort horse to one of her horse friends.
Darla's ideal home would include another herd animal for her to befriend. Could be a goat or a sheep, but ideally another horse would be best for her comfort and safety.
Darla loves being in her stall, where she can nap, but also enjoys being outdoors with other horses.
She is a intuitive and empathic horse, so her new family should give her lots of time to settle in and connect with them. If you have butterflies in your tummy, she will know! In her past, it seems she has suffered from some trauma, but, since she can't talk, her handlers assume it was halter training. She will turn her head when a hand is reached out to pet her. Patience is key.
Darla's biggest challenge at the moment is shoes. Sher requires boots or shoes on her front feet and will need more help being comfortable with people touching her feet.
Darla has only been ridden for the past year so an experienced rider would be best for her.
It is encouraged that her new family continue working with a professional trainer; ideally a trainer from SAFE.
Darla has so much potential to blossom!
If you think you can help her blossom, pl
Meet Bubble Yum. Her foster mom calls her Yum Yum and adores her. In her foster home, she's learned all kinds of puppy manners. She is crate trained, sleeps with the big dogs on the couch or in an open crate. Yum Yum has come a long way. She is the sweetest girl. She can be on the reserved side, cautious of new people and situations, but she's the 'smart' girl of the litter - we can see her thinking about every command. She is the dog that crawls into your lap for TV time, relaxing on your lap. Yum is good with the other dogs in the house, and adores the male cat - they cuddle on the couch.
As Yum has become more comfortable in her foster home, she's joined the 'pack' mentality and likes to 'herd' new people. But she is SO responsive to correction and is easy to work with. We started taking her to training classes to become socialized outside her foster's pack. She has gone on pack walks and to parks for classes and is doing great. Yum really does like the company of women, compared to men. She tolerates (hahaha) the husband in the house. She's going on 'adventures' out to stores and does great in the car.
A large fenced yard and other friendly dogs (a must) would be great to show her the ropes, she plays well with the foster's 10# dog and her 100# dog! Miss Yum met kids ranging from 4 to 13. We think an adult home would probably be the best home for her. In a new home they will need the 3-3-3 rule applied and time to show their true side. We would even welcome a slower adoption process, meet and greets at first, with sleep overs. A trial adoption.
Yum is now a year old. She's been in foster for 8 months and we are stunned... she's such a sweet dog given the time. She's only about 55#. Yum needs a home that understands dogs, she's amazing, but will take some time to adjust in a new home. She just made an appearance with Limelight Pet Project and they loved her.
Yum Yum is a spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is o
Meet Harvey!
YOU MUST HAVE A COUCH!
Harvey is a 6 ½-year-old German Shepherd/Husky/Golden Retriever mix.
This happy go lucky boy is good with people, including kids over 9. He doesn’t always know how big he is and can knock over smaller humans.
Harvey needs to be the only pet in his forever home. While he’s ok with other dogs, he prefers to be the only dog.
Harvey is active and will require daily walks and would love to go on adventures with you.
He loves people and would do well in a home where his humans are around most of the time.
Harvey LOVES to nap on the couch, so after his walk, you can bet he will take a snoozle on his favorite couch cushion.
Harvey has a great attitude and is confident and balanced. He loves to do zoomies and will require a 6 foot fence or higher because one of his super powers is scaling short fences. I mean, look at those legs!
For more information about our bi-eyed friend, please visit his PetFinder listing.

Harvey is waiting for his forever home with our friends at Save-A-Mutt.
Meet Popcorn and Polly Posy who are waiting for their forever home with our friends at MEOW Cat Rescue
This is a 10-year-old bonded pair who need to stay together.
This affectionate pair loves to snuggle with each other and their human family. They love lounging in sun puddles.
Both kitties are excited about meal time.
Neither kitty has an behavioral issues, but Polly Posy has an eye discoloration that needs to be monitored every six months by a veterinarian. Because Popcorn once had a UTI, he needs some monitoring too.
Both kitties love people and their idea family would be home a lot. They would be open to other pets and cat savvy kids 8+.
These two kitties love snuggle time with each other or their new family.
If you might be interested in this adorable pair, please begin the process by visiting www.meowcatrescue.org and filling out an adoption application.
Meet Cupcake, a 6-year-old domestic short-hair kitty.
Cupcake is an affectionate girl, but she needs time and space to warm up first. Once you have gained her trust, she loves belly rubs and pets and will let you know when she's had enough.
The cutest thing about Cupcake is meow. It's been described as a sassy, old lady meow. We don't know because the only noise we heard from her are very loud purrs.
Cupcake's ideal home would be where she can be the Queen as an only cat. Adults and cat savvy older kids would be ideal, especially if they are home often. She loves the company of humans. Other animals, not so much. She would also appreciate a seat at a window where she can watch the birds.
Cupcake loves to learn and knows several commands such as "sit" and "come". She is working on "up".
Cupcake has a few amazing markings in her fur; she has a heart on her shoulder and Mickey Mouse on her bottom.
Cupcake loves toys and puzzles and "hunts" for her treats.
She is really a special cat!
For more information about Cupcake or to start the adoption process by visiting https://www.paws.org/animal/?animal_id=35530721
Meet Miss Buttercup, a 3-year-old, medium/long haired, orange, domestic tabby cat.
Buttercup is an independent, happy cat who has is very clear about her boundaries. She loves to be brushed and petted and then lets you know when she is done. She loves attention, it just has to be on her terms.
Buttercup would prefer to be the only cat in the household. A cat savvy dog might be ok and kids 12+ would be fine with her, as long as they understand cat body language.
Buttercup is content to just share space with her human, while sitting in a window, watching the birds.
She's been at Meow Cat Rescue since April. She has no behavioral or health issues and we can't figure out why she hasn't been adopted yet.
This regal cat who enjoys playtime and eating, would be a great companion.
If you are interested in adopting Buttercup, please visit www.meowcatrescue.org and fill out an adoption application and indicate that you are interested in Buttercup.
We know her forever home is out there!
This week's Limelight feature is an outgoing, super smart 2-year-old Husky named Odette.
If you are in the know about Husky behavior, Odette wrote the book.
She loves people, loves being outdoors, has dog friends of her own choosing, is treat motivated and knows how to back out of her harness when she wants to. All typical Husky things.
Odette would love a home with a big back yard and a resident dog with whom she gets along. She would love her new family to take her on adventures and include her in their day.
Her ideal home would have no cats and older, dog savvy kids. She does like to greet people with a jump.
Odette has been at PAWS for several months and its time for her to go to her forever home.
This goofy, sometimes sassy girl is full of energy and has opinions that she voices sometimes. Because she is highly treat motivated, it will be easier to train her and teach her golden dog manners.
If you think you might have the perfect home for Odette, stop by PAWS in Lynnwood. If you have a resident dog, please bring them along.
Oh, did I mention she loves her kiddie pool? Yep, she is a husky who likes water. =)
Oooo! Wait until you meet Odette! We are at PAWS - Progressive Animal Welfare Society getting to know this super smart dog!
Hi friends! It's Holly and I have to say that this week's featured pet just stole my heart! <3 Her birthday was earlier this week and she just turned 1. Meet YumYum!
YumYum had her first birthday in foster care a few days ago and she is ready for her forever home! She’s been in foster care for 7 months and it is time to get this girl a forever home.
She is a 1-year-old German Shepherd, Husky, Cattle Dog mix which means she is super smart, cautious around strangers and loves to play with her dog friends. She even brought her best friend to filming! Her little pal is Kimber and YumYum loves her. YumYum also loves to cuddle with her favorite cat as she is winding down for the night. Apparently she is hoping for a cuddle cat in her forever home too! She is great with other animals, but has some stranger danger and takes a little while to warm up.
YumYum loves to be outside playing with her pals, so a home with another dog who matches her play style would be ideal. And, of course, a big fenced in back yard. She would also enjoy going on adventures with her new family. Maybe she could even carry her own back pack!
Because YumYum isn’t sure about little kids, an adult only home is best for her. High school age kids would be great for her. It’s the younger crowd that makes her nervous.
YumYum’s forever home should understand that she will need time to settle in, pick her friends and become comfortable.
YumYum has impeccable manners and is super smart. She is an affectionate dog with no health issues – she even has been examined by a veterinarian for orthopedic issues and she has none! She is very gentle and eager to learn.
YumYum is also featured on PetFinder and you can read more about her here --> https://www.petfinder.com/dog/yumyum-62584604/wa/silvana/save-a-mutt-wa630/
