Still being handfed, this White Bellied Caique female baby will be looking for her new playground, (I mean home) towards the beginning/mid September. Her older brother is already spoken for. Like all of my babies, she will be weaned onto pellets, chop, sprouts, birdie muffins and know how to drink from a water bottle.
Through no fault of her own, this little pixie of a Black Capped Conure hen is still available. Hatched beginning of May, she is fully weaned, tame and ready for cuddles, adventure and a bit of mischief.
Look who's growing up! The little Blue Crowned Conure baby is a MALE and he is already feathered and exercising his wings. Soon he will be flying around and learning to land and navigate his surroundings. He is still on several formula feedings but should be ready for his new perch at the end of the summer.
Known for their incredible talking ability, this Blue Crown Conure baby is already very vocal in announcing its presence and wanting food and attention. This baby hatched Mid-June, gender is pending DNA results and will be posted.. He/she will be ready to fly the coop by the end of the summer!
UPDATE: The little sister has found her new perch so "Moxi" Maximillian Pionus girl is no longer available. She is being hand fed and already loves to hang on your shoulder and contemplate the meaning of life.
2 Male and 2 Female Normal Sun Conure babies also looking for new perches. Still being hand fed but already exploring small pellets and chop.
Available for deposit. 1 Male and 2 Female Red Factor Sun Conures. Close to being weaned from handfeeding with stunning plumage and adorable personalities.
UPDATED: No longer available - 2 adorable MALE Black Capped Conure babies left. Hatched May 12 and 14, 2024. Babies are being handfed, socialized and allowed to fully fledge for flight!
I wanted to update everyone that I underwent hip replacement surgery on the 23rd of May and am in the process of recovering, physical therapy, etc. Huge thanks to my family and friends for taking excellent care of me and my flock: especially feeding the baby birds. I truly appreciate all the well wishes and understanding of my former and future customers. I am quickly on the mend and already ditching my walker for a cane! Will be back to posting regular updates and photos of babies!
Only one of these Maximillian Pionus babies is still available. Awaiting DNA results for gender.
More baby sun conures being handfed and awaiting DNA results . Too early to know if any are red factored suns.
UPDATE: No longer available.
Awaiting DNA results for gender these two adorable Blue and Blue Opaline Quakers are available for deposit until weaned.
Babies met a young visitor yesterday and reveled in all the attention and affection. The Sun Conures are spoken for but two of the Black Capped Conure female babies are still available.
Lovely surprise today! ~ two babies from my Blue Quaker Pair have hatched. Last year's clutch produced stunning Blue and Blue Opaline babies.
UPDATE: No longer available. These 3 Musketeers are ready to fly the coop. 1 Male and 2 Females are fully weaned and are adorable, interactive and playful companions. Another plus is that Black Capped Conures emote a much lower volume than related conure species (in general, as of course each bird is highly individual).
UPDATE: No longer available. Growing up quickly - these two adorable Sun Conure FEMALE babies are still looking for their new perches. Should be ready to go home in about 3-4 weeks.
UPDATED: 2 Female babies still available for deposit. These babies feathering in quickly and are expected to be weaned mid to late May. Stafford VA 22556
It's definitely Spring - Cher and Tony (in photo) have produced three more healthy sun conure babies that are currently being hand fed. Awaiting DNA results on gender and will update once determined.
Results are in on the Black Capped Conure babies - 2 Males and 2 Female. They are growing quickly and already sporting the gorgeous red color on their wings. Black Capped are adorable and quieter Pyrrhura that will "purr" when content along with being capable of mimicking speech.
UPDATED: No longer available. Two Red Factor Sun Conure babies. This is an uncommon and simply stunning color mutation of Sun Conure. They are DNAd 1 male and 1 female and are super sweet and cuddly.
Also waiting on DNA results for gender, four darling Sun Conure babies. Parents have strong vibrant orange coloring.
DNA pending for gender, Black Capped Conure babies available. Last photos are of fully feathered juveniles from last summer.
Available; accepting deposits! Handfeeding Sun Conure and Black Capped Conure babies. Babies will be DNAd for gender and weaned onto pellets, chop, sprouts, and birdie bread.
UPDATED: Rowdy has been rehomed. Looking for a new perch! Cuddly and gorgeous just weaned Red Belly Parrot Male. This species is uncommon in the bird market and are great talkers yet remarkably "quiet" for a parrot. They are members of the Poicephalus genus of African Parrots that includes Senegals, Meyers, Brown Headed, Cape and Jardines. Last two photos are of an adult male showing the stunning turquoise feathers on their back.
So breeding season is starting!! Two of my sun conure pairs already with babies (Photos of Kesha). Will be taking deposits once a little older and hand feeding. As usual, all will be DNAd for gender and weaned onto Pellets, Chop, Birdie Bread, Sprouts and Goldenfeast Mixes as well as learning to use a water bottle.
Now that the garage is cooler, producing more freeze dried food for my flock is on the agenda. From left to right, Zucchini, Kale, Cucumber, Spicy Peppers and Brussel Sprouts. Freeze drying takes a lot longer than I had imagined (24+hrs) but hopefully worth the effort especially for my Eclectus. There is a learning curve and potentially extensive prep work involved like cutting or piercing blueberries or they will not dry out. However, my flock prefers this hand over fist to any frozen chop I made for them which inevitably was wet and mushy.
Updated: No longer available. One Maximillian Pionus Male left from his clutch of brothers. Hatched 7/23 and ready for his newest adventures.
UPDATE: Both babies have been rehomed.
Still looking for new perches - Opaline Blue Hen (5/23) and Lutino Hen (9/23).
4 mo Sun Conure babies - male and female siblings ready for new home.
