Poor puppy Kendall doesn't want to move to fast in this summer heat, but she's still practicing her recall to her mom. Love to see that happy encouragement when it's hard to be outside!
Loki practices walking toward distractions
5 month old Loki is working SO hard to pay attention to his family as he learns to walk politely on a leash! Nothing phases this pup and he is so fun to work with.
Arlis helps me pick a wine
Did you know dogs are allowed in many liquor stores? When your dog has great leash skills and isn't bothered by changing environments, they are fun to bring out! Training can get you there; your dog can join you in so many aspects of your life.
Working for her dinner!
Just 20 seconds (out of 20 total minutes) of my dog Arlis sniffing out each kibble of her dinner in the grass. Not only does she enjoy it thoroughly, but it buys me 20 extra minutes of not walking, playing, or generally entertaining her, and she gets to use her nose to forage for food, something dogs are perfectly designed to do. Go ahead, give your dog a challenging dinner and enrich their day by mixing up the routine!
With LOTS of practice, Finn can come when called past a bowl of liverwurst, which he loves. Good job Finn!
Even little baby 8 week old puppies can learn to sit politely instead of jump and mouth your hands! Little Marathon shows how it's done.
1 year old Max is the epitome of polite leash walking. Next he'll practice near some other dogs, something that always distracts him.
