The stray feeder tried to leave Muffin by the food again, so she could move onto her next stop, but Muffin ran and got into the car. This dog used to be owned. She misses family life. She knows what a car is and was determined to get in it. She is crying and calling for help. The stray feeder ended up taking her home for now, but she has over 20 dogs and cannot keep her. If anyone can foster, adopt, or network with other rescues to try to get this baby placed please message my page. I cannot help her without a foster. I do not have room. She’s currently in Rio Grande Valley, Texas. We can have her transported anywhere in the North Eastern United States. #foster #rescueanimals #dog #sad #abandoned #dumped #alone #helpisontheway #networking
Amelia leash training
For any dog that has never been exposed to a leash, it can be frightening. Biting the leash, vocalizations, trying to flee, and rolling can be common fear responses. You can see Amelia’s progress as she’s learning to walk on leash. Treats, positive reinforcement, short training sessions, consistency, and for her I used another dog to assist in the teaching process. She is doing so much better, but this is still a work in progress as she has yet to go on an official “walk”. Rescue dogs sometimes need additional training. It’s not their fault they’ve never been taught! Please give them a chance! #rescueanimal #PDAR #adoptdontshop #training #scared #confidenceboosting #leashtraining #chance
Bobo was so scared and nervous at the vet today. His soulful eyes just stared directly into mine as if to ask me if it was going to be ok. Almost a month on antibiotics and he still has pneumonia and it has not gotten any better. More testing done, different meds prescribed, hoping it will get this baby situated.
Bobo
Bobo pneumonia update. He was first prescribed antibiotics the 20th of September! He’s doing so much better, but still very symptomatic.
Whew!
One of my fosters received a message that her recently adopted puppy escaped the adopters yard and took off! She rushed over to help look for the puppy and we joined a couple hours later. Thank goodness she was found as she was only 4lbs and to be lost in such a rural area with so many predators is terrifying! Thank goodness she was found later this evening! Thank you to everyone who came out to help!
Poor Bobo has a very bad upper respiratory infection that has turned into pneumonia. He’s being isolated right now and feels icky, but is in good spirits! He’s on a bunch of medication and hopefully he will continue to show improvement!
Fall in love
Fall is around the corner and Gracie is hoping someone will fall for her soon! Her foster family is going out of town starting this weekend and she would love to find a home before she has to leaf her foster home to a temporary one! She was just adopted and returned due to the adopters allergies. Back n forth, back n forth. It sucks!
The Petfinder website is down right now, but I'm attaching an application below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog

Final heartworm injections
Logan was not happy this morning. He knew as soon as we got in the car we were going to the vet. Then once we were at the office he anxiously paced and whined. He has to stay until mid-day Saturday as long as his heartworm injections go smoothly. He had quite the cough this morning, but I don’t think it was from the fluid in his lungs since that is about cleared. I think the coughing was due to the stress barking agitating his lungs. My poor baby! He did have calming meds before we left, but they seemed to have had no effect. He is in good hands and I do believe he will do well with the injections, just like the last round. The kids and I gave him lots of pets, hugs, and kisses as we said what may be our last goodbye to him. He has made such a turnaround we are very hopeful he will be making a full recovery. ❤️🩹 ❤️🩹 ❤️🩹 #PDAR #bullterrier #rescue
