Look at this sweet boy. He’s in Waynesville NC and looking for a new home.

🍄 Rooter 🍄 is finally available! This little fella has been through a lot. His owner passed away and he ended up at Sarge's. Then he had to have a dental and lost 13 teeth! But Rooter is looking ahead to his future now, and needs a lap to retire on. 🌞 He's about eight years old, handsome, and distinguished. We are pretty sure his feet rarely touched the ground in his previous home; he loves to be held. He is still getting used to walking on a leash but is house trained, and loves his treats. 🍽️

Last week a letter was sent to NC Gov Roy Cooper asking him to declare a State of Emergency prohibiting keeping dogs chained or penned outside due to dangerously high temps across the state. Every day penned or chained dogs are struggling to survive. Dead dogs have been found recently across the state, still chained and tangled unable to reach shade or water. Please Call or email Gov. In this scorching heat, a ride in the bed of a pickup truck can be pure misery. The hot temps mean any "breeze" created by the vehicle's movement provides no relief. Metal truck beds can seriously burn a dog's paws, and even beds with liners can become dangerously hot.

Please: Let them ride in the cab, or leave them home. ❤🐾

This sweet girl is Stella. She was tied to a tree and left by her owner. Luckily she is in foster care now. She is very much a puppy, only 14 months old. She's full of puppy energy and curiosity. She’s very smart and very sweet. She's looking for her forever home. She loves other dogs and would be good in a home with playful kids. She is house trained and crate trained. She just needs a little more guidance and time to become her best self. But she is gonna grow up to be a Great Dog! Dm us or comment on this post if you would like to meet Stella
