Morning all,
It’s a chilly one!
All packed up, ready for the Lewiston Farmer’s Market!
I’m not sure how many markets I’ll be doing this month. Starting this coming week my kitchen is under construction (new windows & such) so will not be doing any more cooking this year.
Will be there until my freezer inventory is sold out. Will keep you posted!
While I was still able to cook and bake, I made some spinach & cheese patties and chocolate zucchini bread. Also got some more dried flower bouquets made.
Just a reminder. Our fall hours have changed, market is from 11 AM to 1PM, starting today.
Enjoy today and hug someone!!!!!
Hope to see you!

Morning all,
All packed up, ready for the Lewiston Farmer’s Market!
Well, the growing season has come to an end. Now it’s time for Everlasting flowers!
I will have mixed bouquets.
Trying to go out with a bang so I made three different patties, veggie cheese, chicken veggie and pork & potato Will be bringing them all .... fresh baked. Not frozen.
As I begin to wind down will be bringing more items from the freezer list. This week is pumpkin squash soup and slices of rhubarb cake.
We are having our annual Harvest Festival today. We’re trying something different this year, having a Sunday Suppah! Remember those? Having a Sunday dinner mid afternoon, from 1:30 to 3 PM over on the lawn. Zoe, Sheri and I made the soups, a curry squash soup and a meat chili, they both came out wicked good! Lorelei is making rolls, and I made a garlic herb butter and a maple cinnamon butter. Also put together a dessert platter. Hope you join us for a yummy lunch!
We’ll hurry to pack up so we can join you.
Next weekend I’m catering another wedding and have my garlic to get planted so will not be at the market.
Will be back November 3rd with our shorter fall hours, 11 AM to 1PM!
Enjoy today and hug someone!!!!!

Morning all,
All packed up, ready for the Lewiston Farmer’s Market!
I harvested a bushel of eggplant, so I made eggplant parmesan. Everyone’s been asking for more! Had to go up a bit on the price. I realized because of cost of ingredients I didn’t break even on the last batch, and it is a full day of cooking.
It’s squash season so I made butternut squash risotto. It comes in 24 oz. containers. This would make a great side dish at Thanksgiving. Nice comfort food!
I baked a batch of molasses cookies. Another one of Mom’s recipes but I use butter, not shortening. Also used organic whole wheat flour and organic coconut sugar.
Bringing a couple items from the freezer list. As the season winds down, I will be adding more items and marking them down. I also plan to do my sell out freezer sale last market day in November. Thats when I bring everything and lower prices every 15 minutes.
Hope to see you!
Enjoy today and hug someone!!!!!

Morning all,
All packed up, ready for the Lewiston Farmer’s Market!

Tomatoes are still bountiful, so I made some more Gazpacho. Not only is this good as a cold soup but also makes a great side with an omelette. Healthier than ketchup. You can warm it up and serve it over pasta! Freeze it so you’ll have the taste of fresh tomatoes in the middle of winter!
Zucchinis are still around so I made some zucchini casseroles, Mom’s recipe!
For baked goods I made rhubarb cake and Gluten Free molasses cookies.
Been working on my dried herbs. Made a new batch of Sleep Well tea with lavender and mint.
Hope to see you!
Please bring cash if you can.
Enjoy today and hug someone!!!!!

Well, fall is settling in. The trees are starting to turn their brilliant colors!
It’s been nice and cool for baking! It’s pumpkin season so I made pumpkin raisin cookies and pumpkin squash soup. I also made blackberry blueberry cake!
Harvested more eggplant so I made Italian eggplant patties. I roasted eggplant, then mixed with sauteed peppers, onions & garlic, tomatoes, Mozzarella, Cheddar & Parmesan cheese. It tastes like steak & cheese, without the steak. Wicked good!
Flowers are still blooming!
Hope to see you!

Wow, school has already started! Where did the summer go? That always happens, we wait for it, and then it’s gone.
I have made it to the ocean and lake a couple of times; and have heard some great music!
The Henry Fest is next Saturday, https://317main.org/henryfest-2024 , It’s right in North Yarmouth at Skyline Farm. Really good line up of music!
Music and dancing are good for your soul!

The Deering Center Porch Fest, https://deeringcenter.me/dcporchfest24

Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weather!
I harvested some more eggplant, so I made a small batch of Baba Ghanoush. This is a dip typical of eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Eggplants were slow cooked on the smoker, so it has a great flavour!
Picked some more blackberries so I made some turnovers. I used organic whole wheat flour and organic coconut sugar for the crust
I also made some potato Cheddar Patties with a garlic herb crust. Potatoes were freshly dug from the garden!

Mr. Drew and His Animals Too are coming from 11-1 so it should be a fun market! They’ll be over on the green space.

Hope to see you today!

Morning all,

All packed up, ready for the Lewiston Farmer’s Market!

Hope you’re all enjoying your summer, it’s going fast!

I harvested some kale and callaloo greens, so I made some Jamaican curry veggie patties. Callaloo greens are a main staple in Jamaica, so yummy! I made a healthier version with organic whole wheat flour.

It was cool in the kitchen, so I made meat chili and veggie chili. Also did some baking and made lemon blueberry cake.
Selling it by the slice.

I will have lots of flowers! Just finished making all the bouquets!

The Lewiston Auburn Balloon Festival is this weekend. There may be more traffic than usual but the parking lot at the
market is for our customers.

Not sure if the balloons will be launching today, depends on the weather. It was too cloudy yesterday morning. You can find info
here: https://laballoonfest.org
I saw on the schedule that Julia Gagnon will be performing at 2 PM in Simard Payne Park. She was the American Idol runner
up this year and has an amazing voice. Her rendition of “Over the Rainbow is beautiful! Might have to pack up quick!

We will have extended market hours, there until 2 PM.

Hope to see you!
Please bring cash if you can!
