Happy National Puppy Day! 🎉🐶 From all the puppies that we’ve fostered (and failed) and trained over the last 2 years!

If you guys have been following me since last year, you might remember Yoki! He’s the young Aussie boy that did a month long BnT with me to work on his anxiety & inability to settle.

Things have changed at home and his current circumstances aren’t ideal for him anymore, so he’s on the hunt for a new family!

Some info about him:

He’s turning 5 on the 18th this month, making his DOB 3/18/2020

He is neutered & UTD on his vaccines

Crate trained & potty trained

Walks excellent on a leash and has all basics down

While he does struggle with anxiety, he overall is a really good dog. He is really sweet with people and is pretty good with other dogs! He does have some intense herding behaviors when he tries to engage with other dogs in play, but it can definitely be managed.

He loves to work & would definitely excel in a sport home or active pet home! He’s very athletic and I have a feeling he would make a great off leash hiking dog! He currently isn’t off leash trained, but once we found a suitable home for him, I’d take him back to do a two week BnT for e collar work before heading to his new home!

His rehome fee could potentially be negotiable with his new family.

I would do some go home lessons with his new family to ensure the transition would go smoothly.

I am all booked up for the end of January for BOARDING requests.

I am now booking into FEBRUARY, for both boarding & BnTs! I have a 2 week spot available at the beginning of Feb, so if you’re interested in snagging that spot, please reach out ASAP to see if you qualify for the spot!

‘Twas the Yule Night Before Training

‘Twas Yule night, and all through the house,
Not a leash was tangled—not even by a spouse.
The dogs were all nestled, tired and snug,
Dreaming of treats and a well-earned tug.

When out in the yard arose a faint bark,
I sprang to the door—it was cold and dark.
With a quick recall, they returned with glee,
Proof our training was working perfectly.

So here’s to the trainers, both near and far,
Building bonds as bright as a holiday star.

Happy Halloween/Samhain everyone! Hope everyone stays safe tonight, pups included!!

Wanted to hop on here give you guys a quick update for November!
I am FULLY BOOKED for thanksgiving/end of November boarding! I have one BnT spot at the beginning/first two weeks of Nov, so if you’d like to snag a BnT spot for next month, please reach out ASAP!

Otherwise I’m booking into December! I will have VERY VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY for boarding in December, so please reach out ASAP! I will be giving priority to potential BnTs for December, especially Christmas time!

The update that everyone has been anticipating…today marks 2 official weeks with this guy! There’s been SO MUCH that’s happened & progressed. I’ll do my best to cover it without rambling too much lol

So for anyone who’s new to my page & new to the Adro the 7/8 mo old Malinois saga, welcome! This puppy came to me because of some SEVERE behavioral issues at home. Like so severe that when I did the initial eval for him, behavioral euthanasia was something I had to cover with his owner, which I don’t think I’ve had to do until him.

Why?

Because he became a liability. They couldn’t take him anywhere because he was REACTIVE to everything (people too) and he was AGGRESSIVE to people who came to their house (they didn’t have anyone come over because of him). When he first met me, he tried to come after me and I was convinced that if they hadn’t muzzled him preemptively, he would’ve absolutely bit me. So this guy was serious. I honestly couldn’t believe they’d been dealing with this sort of behavior for so long.

I saw some potential at the eval, but I wasn’t going to let myself get too hopeful. I didn’t have any information on his genetic background and I didn’t have much information to go off of except for what I got from his owner as well as what I gleaned from the eval. I like to continually challenge myself and this puppy was a hell of a challenge…so it was game on.

And boy did he make me WORK. After getting home from picking him up, it took me over an hour to get a muzzle on him (I did this solo so as not to put any of the people in my household in harms way). It damn near took all of my wit to do it.

Once I tackled that hurdle, then it was just facing one challenge at a time:

Kennel ✅(as of today we’ve crossed a bridge with it so I feel like we’ve conquered the worst of it)
Redirecting to bite anytime he was uncomfortable ✅
Taking food from my hand without trying to bite me ✅
Reacting at strangers ✅ (he’s met my roommate a few times successfully without being pet or actively interacted with)
Walking on leash ✅ (currently on a prong collar but i plan to incorporate the e collar for this as well)
Impulse control ✅

I may or may not have forgotten about the last intro 😅😅😅

Anyways for those who don’t already know me, hi 👋🏼 I’m Tamara, the head trainer for our company. I also run our social media page & 9/10 times am the one you talk to if you ever reach out to us for dog training help.

If I’m not training clients dogs, then you can probably find me training my own dogs. If I’m not doing that, then you’ll most likely find me photographing my dogs (I took this photo & every other photo on our socials lol). Outside of that, there isn’t much that I do that doesn’t involve dogs. I’m definitely one of those weirdos that if I can’t bring my dog, you will most likely find me not going 😅

What can I say, I really am a dog person through and through 😅

Happy Tuesday guys! It’s time to meet the human team behind Doglingual Canine Training 👭🏻

Meet Carsyn! She’s the backbone behind the operation & is the behind-the-scenes manager who makes sure our business is running smoothly. She’s constantly looking for new ways to help our business run better so we can serve our clients the best way possible. She’s our residential puppy wrangler & raiser extraordinaire.
When she’s not snuggling puppies or helping me train, you can usually find Carsyn buried behind a good book 📖
If she’s not reading or dealing with dogs, there’s a good chance you can find her working on some sort of house project. She’s quite the skilled craftswoman & she loves to learn new skills all the time!

She’s a woman of many talents and the dogs and I (Tamara) are lucky to have her 🥰

Last but not least on the canine team is Ezio!

He’s the eldest of the pack & everyone’s favorite big brother. He takes his role as big brother very seriously…sometimes too serious 😅 He’s our pack leader on treks & go-to demo dog for difficult dogs. He loves to play fetch, especially if it involves the water. He’s a very sweet boy & he absolutely loves his moms (and his bed, he’s not sorry about that 😂) He’s the OG puppy raiser & our pack wouldn’t be anywhere without him 🖤

Second to last on the canine team is Wryn!

She’s who we like to call our resident space case or space cadet. She’s the most easy going of the bunch & the one who requires the least from us 😂 (unless you count grooming wise then obviously she takes the cake for that lol) She’s come a long way in the two years we’ve had her. From being terrified of the world and not being able to leave her kennel, to now being a full blown adventure dog (hiking mostly) who is reliable on the e collar & often goes on urban/training adventures too! She’s the “mom” of the pack because whenever we get new puppies, she’s the one the puppies listen to the best. She’s the best cat-dog ☺️

Next on the list is Neji!

He’s the first middle child 🥲 He’s the friendliest of the bunch when it comes to people, adults & kids alike. He’s the craziest of the bunch & id like to think he gets that from the husky side of him. Oh did I mention he’s half Malinois & half husky? Talk about an identity crisis. But as he’s gotten older, he’s definitely embraced his husky side more and more. He and our other husky are definitely die hard snow dogs but they’re also the first dogs to go sit outside when it’s sunny to roast 💀 Dogs are weird & this guy is definitely a big time weirdo.

Next in the line up of the canine team is Sai!

He’s one of two of the middle children, but deep down he still thinks he’s the baby of the pack 😂 he’s the SWEETEST boy of the bunch. I often refer to him as the dog with “Disney character eyeballs” because he just looks so sweet 🥹 he’s also the neediest of the boys 😅 but he’s our lover boy & everyone who meets him falls in love with him. I also tend to refer to him as our “unicorn” mal because he comes off as super chill which is abnormal for his breed 😂 but he’s the best boy & the best mal we could’ve ever asked for.

Next up in the canine team is Raven!

She’s our youngest mal at 9months old & our first foster fail from (but major credit goes to for finding her & sending her info to us! 😂😂😂) ! We knew the moment she came off the transport bus she wasn’t going anywhere 😂 She is a SPICY girl but she’s definitely got her sweet side to her too. She’s incredibly smart & has just molded herself right into the pack like she was born to be with us. She is the most vocal of the pack, especially when we’re out hiking & we come across strangers (hello scary dog privilege). We’re currently going through a hard teenage brain phase, so please pray for us 💀😂 but she’s well on her way to being the next demo dog in line alongside two of her elder brothers!
