Got a call from a good friend of mine this morning. He found the bucks first bed, 150yds from hit site he didn’t want to push him due to being close to property lines. We pushed past the deer first bed about 200 more yds to find the deer DOA. I was surprised the deer didn’t bleed more to be honest, was back some but not a bad shot.

If you find little to blood or sign at hit site or with in 10-15 yds it’s best to back out, even if you can find a dog and give the deer time. Time and time again I go on tracks where the deer has been pushed or scent has been pickup by a grid search and spread all around the area, which in return makes it extremely difficult for the dog to get lined out and can lead to not recovering the deer.
Visual blood is nice for the hunters to give them confidence in the dog, but isn’t required for the dog to track the deer. I think this is what some people don’t understand.

0-3 today
1st track was specks of blood didn’t every hit on anything soild I felt like.

2nd track was head on shot no blood or hair. We went in the general direction the deer went but never hit on anything.

3rd track was small amount of hair with some skin attached. I felt like we may have had a gut shot, but Tiger never hit on anything at all really. Not a good day for us… when I was a young handler, I would be so frustrated after a day like today, I would be questioning my training and my dog and everything else. BUT I have learned just trust the dog and carry on!

Got a call yesterday evening to help a guy out tracking a buck he did everything right, didn’t even get his arrow out of the field. He knew he had a gut shot let him lay over night. Unfortunately the yotes got him up last night 1100 yds later we have us a recovery! Great people to track for!

Got the call from a friend to track a gut shot. Dre smoked it and found her in her second bed in a deep hole.

My tip to all bow hunters aim mid mass and let it eat!! You mess with any part of the shoulder you can just head back to the truck because they are toting that…. Here is a great chart to go by. Always remember time is your friend dead is dead. Let me know if we can help in any way!

This is Tiger’s oldest recovery deer was shot at 7:15 yesterday morning, we recovered him 3:30 this evening! Deer went 900 yds shot low gut crossed a big creek twice. So proud of my dude not only is he one of the most obedient dogs I ever been around but he’s a solid tracker!

My good friend Daniel Wysmulek passed this track off to me, little far for him to travel today. 200 yd shot 300 mag hunter found dark blood and some gut matter at hit site deer didn’t go 90 yds died in first bed.
