We officially foster failed this kid 6 weeks ago. A week later he broke his leg (these tiny things are fragile 😳). This coming Friday marks 6 weeks since the splint went on and will be his fourth visit to the vet since. We are really hoping that the splint can come off for good at this next visit so please keep your fingers crossed for us! This boy is ready to start doing all of the dog things.

I'm pretty confused about how this dog is still available! I will groom him, free of charge, twice to whoever adopts and, as always, there is a discount on training sessions within your first 6 weeks of adoption.

On a very limited basis, I am offering stay and trains (board and trains but within the comfort of your own home!). Doing a classic board and train in this way has many benefits and nearly eliminates all of the issues commonly associated with B&Ts. Get the training that you need for your dog while you are on vacation and rest assured that they are safe and comfortable in their own home and their own bed. There is far less chance of weight loss and/or significant stress and the training will happen within your home, where it is most needed.

Each day you will receive video updates of your dog's training journey while you are gone. When you return home, we will schedule a follow up session with you and your dog to ensure that you are able to continue the work that was started while you were gone.

Cost is $140 per day. If you arrive home before noon on the last day or leave after 3 on the first day, that day will be discounted to $75. Pricing includes training for a single dog. If you need or desire training for other dogs in the home, the cost is $50 additional per extra dog. There is no extra cost for the care of additional animals in the home (i.e. if you have 3 total animals but only want training for one dog, it is still only $140 per day.)

Some kind of small critter took to the hood of my car for warmth when the cold snap hit and started chewing things up so, needless to say, I don't currently have a sufficiently running vehicle. I'm hoping that will be fixed later this week but I'm scheduling very tentatively for right now. However, a lot can be accomplished through a virtual consult so if you want to set one of those up, let me know!

This super cute, smaller standard poodle is looking for a patient home where he can decompress for a bit with no social pressure. He would thrive in a home with mostly women (he's a bit timid with men) and with other friendly dogs, as he LOVES them.

This guy has some things to overcome and is pretty scared in general so patience will be key, but will be rewarded tenfold! There is nothing in life quite like a poodle!

Group classes are live! These are 6 classes for $150. The classes will be ongoing so you do not need to attend 6 in a row, though that would be best! Use this link to register and save your spot for the dates that you are available. These begin December 7th and run through twelve weeks to start. Classes are Saturdays at 10am.

These will be in Olathe at Second Cup Cat Cafe in the separated, open side of the building. There are only six slots for each day so get yourself signed up now so you don't miss out!

I'm looking to do game-based group classes in Olathe beginning later this month. Would anyone be interested? I'm thinking it would be once a week on the weekend to allow for more people to be able to attend. The classes would be rolling, meaning you can join at any point and still learn all the things, so payments will be monthly ($150) and automatic until you cancel, with a portion of proceeds going to .

I intend for these classes to be fun and not your standard cue-repeating type of classes. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get more details ironed out and posted later.

This is being rescheduled and I will share more details when they are available but, for now, if you are planning to attend today, your afternoon just opened back up. The yard we were intending to do this in is just a mud pit so we feel for the comfort of everybody, we are moving to an indoor location going forward and will announce that later date.

We will also be requiring people to sign up so that we can give notification for any last minute changes such as this.

This is open to the public and is free but donations to Melissa's Second Chances are very much appreciated. Hope to see you there!

✨ OCTOBER SPECIAL ✨

Let's be real- this economy sucks and we could all use a break on the things we need (like tires 🙋‍♀️ and dog training 🫵) so I am offering another special, the likes of which cannot be beat!

For the month of October only, purchase as many training sessions as you want and get them all for only $50 per session. This is a HUGE savings as training sessions typically run $75-$100 each. You must purchase all sessions upfront.

So just to clarify, if you purchase 10 training sessions, it will cost you $500, which is a $495 discount! There is no limit to how many you can buy or when you use them, so you can purchase for a friend or family member for Christmas or a birthday if you wish. I will ask that we get them all scheduled but if you are purchasing for someone else, they can handle that once they've received their gift.
