Did you know that more dogs are lost on The 4th than any other day of the year??

A good way to help keep your pups calm this holiday is bring them into the house, play classical/calming music and add white noise. Keep all the windows and doors closed to help muffle the noise, maybe give them their favorite kong or bone that will last through the show.

Colorado Springs folks: You're hankering for some yard sale activity, yes? Head to the Old North End Neighborhood's giant annual treasures-offered-up event tomorrow (Saturday, the 19th). More than 100 familes will be selling furniture, books, glassware and all kinds of other stuff, and we'll be selling hundreds of new dog items--donated by Pet Smart and by wonderful supporters--at shockingly low prices. Collars, harnesses, beds, leashes, you name it we've probably got it. The proceeds, of course, will help pay the medical expenses of Lacee, Mo, Cocoa and the rest of the old mutts. This is a very serious topic that more people need to be educated on. I heard someone say it so perfectly one time.
If an unleashed dog comes towards a leashed dog and reacts negatively, it is very similar to a human running towards another human arms extended, forcing contact. Our reaction would not necessarily be a positive reaction. The same is with dogs, many dogs are not okay with other dogs running up on them to give hugs. It doesn't mean that they are bad dogs or aggressive dogs.
ALL dogs should be on a leash unless they are in designated off-leash areas period. This is for the safety of everyone and it'sthe law. Please walk responsibly 😉

Lexi was one of my first pups I had when starting my business. It took her about a month before she could fully trust me. We spent our hour visits just laying on the floor or just sitting in the sun, until one day she went to the front door wagging her tail. Her mom had told me she wasn't too keen on others walking her, but it seemed like it's what she wanted. Ever since then she loves to take me on little adventures. I love my rescue pups, they all have a special place in my heart, especially this handsome girl ❤

Our Story

Beyond Pet Care is a locally owned and operated in home pet sitting company founded in the summer of 2020. Beyond Pet Care was founded on the idea that we, as humans, are not the only ones affected by this new "normal." During the Stay-at-Home order the animal shelters cleared out not once but twice, in Colorado. While people began working from home and businesses closing, the applications for foster and adoption climbed. While we are still struggling with the pandemic, people are slowly starting to return to work and traveling to finally see loved ones.

What does this mean to your pets? Our animals don't understand what is happening in our world, they have become more reliant on us while we are home more often. So, how can we keep them happy and comforted while our lives slowly go back to normal?

Beyond Pet Care knows how to help. While routines start to change in your home, allow us to help comfort your pet and help keep a routine in place. We offer daily check-ins where we will visit with your animals and keep them company while you get back to work. We offer daily walks to help keep them stimulated throughout the day. We also offer overnight stays to help with your pets as you visit with family or are able to take that long awaited vacation.

Beyond Pet Care is certified in Dog and Cat first aid through Red Cross. We are also insured and bonded. What does this mean for you? It means that while we stay with your pet in your home, your pet and home are insured while we are visiting. On top of all this we are continually learning how to better care for your pet by taking online courses that are certified by the Nations Associations of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).
