FIVE years ago this month, we held our first CPE Canine Scent Sport trial. In celebration of this achievement, we wanted to take a minute and recognize the team that brings the smarts, creativity and FUN to our trials. We couldn’t function without them!
Jen Jo: trial secretary extraordinaire. If organization was an Olympic sport, she would medal every time. Never rattled, despite running multiple dogs of her own and handling random challenges each trial day. Wicked sense of humor and the best laugh!
Debbie: professional cat herder, cheerleader, and smile distributor. Without her tireless coordination of volunteers and schedule mastermind, we’d be sunk. Her sunny disposition brings light and fun to every day.
Joel: analytical, dead-pan humorist who finds a “better way” whenever possible. He’s our solutions guy! Steady, hard-working, focused and the first with a snappy comeback to keep us all laughing.
Elvira: quick as a fox, darting here and there, always doing something to help someone or make their day better. Fantastic listener and counselor who lends her sympathetic ear to the committee and exhibitors alike.
Alex: thoughtful, sarcastic, fun-loving rules expert who lends his unique blend of skills and humor to every trial. He lives to see others roll their eyes! Steadfast energizer bunny who never stops moving, or being a wise a@@.
Deb: go-anywhere, "do what needs to be done" detail-oriented handywoman that adds value wherever she sets foot. Creative problem solver and champion for the exhibitor experience. (Plus, she puts up with Taylor… a full time job!)

Combined, these six folks are the hardest working committee of scent sport enthusiasts you will ever find. We are HONORED to work with them and consider them family (whether they admit it or not!). When you see us laughing or giving each other a hard time (or even getting a little heated!) at a trial, know that it’s all from a place of mutual respect and admiration.
Thank you to this amazing crew for creating a trial culture that we are very very proud of. So glad they all signed lifetime employment contracts!
