We've been holding onto this news for a few months! Our tails are wagging, butts are wiggling, and we’re bursting with excitement to announce the news!!!

Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw is opening our 3rd location in CT!

Wagging Tails’ Newington location at 280 Hartford Avenue is conveniently located in the center of the state of CT and is easily accessible from all over CT and the nearby Berlin, East Hartford, Glastonbury, Hartford, Kensington, Meriden, New Britain, Wallingford and of course, West Hartford. We plan to offer the same, and a few more surprise unique services, that each of the Wagging Tails Wolcott and West Hartford locations have.

At our new 16,000sf climate-controlled, beautiful pet resort, we'll be open 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year providing dog daycare, playcare, overnight dog and cat accommodations including cozy rooms, overnight pawjama parties (cage-free boarding - where we sleep with your dog), grooming, training, transpawtation, birthday pawties, social events, pet adoptions, pet store, puppy nursery school, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, AND an indoor dog park with coffee bar! All under one roof! Or should we say WOOF!

PSA—-If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family - PLEASE - reach out to the local animal control facilities. The dog pounds in almost every town in CT are FULL! The amount of dumped, abandoned and found, stray animals is at an all time high. These facilities and CT animal shelters are all at capacity.

So before you choose to adopt from out of state, or from an organization that is bringing in dogs from out of state, please first contact your LOCAL ACO - animal control officer.

And be patient with them! They’re all overwhelmed and overworked while they provide lifesaving care to these animals. Contact Wolcott Animal Control, West Hartford Animal Control, Hartford Animal Control - your local animal control!

Please don’t assume that all dogs that come from the pound or shelters are problem
dogs, or are mixed breeds. We’ve seen pure bred dogs and mixed breeds, all sizes, all ages, all abilities available to go to loving homes.

Although we recognize, support and appreciate the work that animal rescue organizations are doing to bring animals from high kill shelters, from other states into CT for adoption, at this time there are just too many animals already in this state that need homes! So, please contact your LOCAL facility, shelter and rescues. Thank you!

We are so sorry to hear this. Officer Edmond and Kira were great friends of the Wagging Tails family and we know that right up to their retirement they have always been dedicated hard working officers. Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw - Wolcott and Wagging Tails Pet Sitting & Mobile Grooming Service LLC was proud to have donated to Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. to purchase a protection vest for Kira to wear during her service. We are grateful that she remained safe during her service. We thank Kira and Mel for their dedication and service. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Gone but never forgotten.

In Connecticut! At Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw - Wolcott we welcome all breeds, from all organizations, at all ages, to participate! Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate in the United Dock Diving competition- but we do offer a “ramp division” during the event, for dogs any age, that aren’t yet jumping, to enjoy the pool and to acclimate to event chaos, for future experiences. Ramp Division attendees are welcome to enjoy all additional event activities free of charge- such as lunch and raffles too!

Wagging Tails first OUTDOOR event of the summer season is on Saturday May 25th. This pool opens for the season on May 1st for pool rentals, practice, coaching, Dock diving try it sessions, swim lessons and pool Pawties. It will remain open 7 days a week through Oct 1st.

Paws & Stripes is a one day event and year end qualifier for United Dock Diving. We’re kicking off the season with a free BBQ for competitors, Red, white and blueberry pupsicles, a pawtriotic pet costume contest with prize, free raffle prizes, pawsome activities and photo ops to enjoy while waiting to jump, unique and beautiful handmade rosettes 🏵️ or awards too! This clean outdoor facility offers mud free turfed grounds to setup on, and first come, first serve, shaded kennel runs to hold your dog. We even have misting fans and small kiddie pools and sprinklers for you and your dog to cool off with!

The INDOOR pool Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw - West Hartford will remain open year round 7 days a week. Please note, that in the event of inclement summer weather, we reserve the right to move the outdoor event, to the indoor pool.

Indoor! Wagging Tails’ Friday Night Flight Crew & Flying Fur League Night is now open for membership! Come join a group of friendly, supportive, dog loving, dock diving enthusiasts for our League Nights! Held at Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw 635 New Park Ave West Hartford, CT’s new, heated, indoor, 40’ dock and 40’ pool. All breeds, all sizes, jumping at any level, ages 4 months and older, from any dock diving organization, are invited to join. From newbies to experienced jumpers….all are welcome. We’ll meet for 2 hours or more, 2-3 Friday nights per month, for a total of 6 meetings. League nights are for FUN! We’ll practice with open dock time, and then we’ll have friendly competitions. We have Fetch It, Air Retrieve (whatever you want to call it) equipment, and will practice/learn other dock diving games besides just jumps. At the end of this round of 5 dates awards will go to most improved, best throw, best catch, and some other fun categories. Complimentary snacks for humans and hot beverages provided. Complimentary Indoor water fountain, dog bowls and towels also available. Plenty of seating and a heated pool. Friendly, welcoming environment. dates are Feb 2, 16, March 1, 15, 29. Dates are subject to change due to inclement weather, holidays, illness. If you can’t make it on Friday nights, we also have a Sunday FUNday league. We are also working to have fun League night competitions virtually with other indoor facilities across the U.S. League Night is $200 for 5 nights. This is a great way to practice and keep your dog in shape through the winter. Plus, it’s fun with friends and flying fur! Up to date rabies vaccine or veterinarian waiver are required for all dogs.
