Because we are sold out of eggs, I will NOT be at Ferndale this weekend. It is my intent to be there every weekend, but we sold almost 40 doz eggs at other markets!! This is a good problem to have!

Yall!! It's gonna be HOT HOT HOT this weekend! We will have vendors inside and outside! Come early to do your market stroll! Umbrellas and hats are our two suggestions for hot market weekend comfort! 🌂🧢👒

28 doz delivered today! I haven’t seen the fridge empty since last Christmas!!

The good news is of course that they laid 68 eggs today, and probably will tomorrow too, and before you know it the top row will be full again!

Don’t worry, the ladies are out there making more. When I have a lot of sales it really means you get the absolute freshest eggs!

Ways to use eggs?

This is home made vanilla ice cream the ingredients are
6 cups whole milk
1.5 cups sugar
1T (give or take) vanilla extract
12 egg yolks

Separate the eggs first and set aside. Mix milk and sugar then stir and heat to about 165F
Add about 1C of the warm milk to the eggs and beat well, then return milk and eggs to the rest of the milk. Add vanilla now. Re-heat to 165-170F stirring fairly continuously. Refrigerate overnight (or until cool) before freezing in ice cream maker.

(You can make it a little thicker and set firmer if you wish by adding about 4-6 Tablespoons of corn starch in with the sugar.)

The syrup is just blackberries smashed and about 1/2 cups sugar cooker a little to thicken it.

I’m afraid we’re down to 1 female guinea and the boys are all ganging up on her. Sigh. The girls must be the dumber sex because they keep getting predated.

It’s cold, so I didn’t have any videography help, but this is how I pop the ice out of the black rubber bowls for the rabbits during extreme weather. During normal cold, the rabbits are able to keep skim layer of ice open but not during these freeze solid days.
