Cookie is getting more sound! Just waiting on the Ferrier to get through being sick and will get shoes on those front feet and I think she will be golden and I mean golden.

Gibby got a rub a dub from Yvonne Maggie certified massage therapist for horses! It was so revealing.

Gibby taking in the big box! I’ve been walking him around the barn because there’s all kinds of unusual objects everywhere!
We came across this rail car that they store feed in and I said well let’s go in here.
All he had to do was take a step and put his nose on it and we left will play again tomorrow.

Gibby and I went looking around at “scary” stuff! There’s a lot of new things around the barn that he has not seen so I’ve been hand walking him around and letting him put his nose on things that concern him and then we leave.

Cookie got a massage and we found some sore spots.
The lovely Yvonne Magee CESTM worked it all out with her magic hands and her cold laser. Cookie was in heaven and we found some sore spots!
She has always been tender on her front feet due to her thin roof walls and I think after years of carrying her self a certain way that’s a misalignment.
It was beautiful to watch her get better.
I’m going to keep this up and Gibby is next on Thursday.

Rode Gibby today!
I’m finally getting my confidence back. Today was the first day I actually was up there and wasn’t afraid. I could feel my natural abilities begin to come back to me. Thank you Gibby and Crystal

Side passing by the scary dog! It went really well.
The lady that owns the dogs is really cool and we talked a long time and let Gibby just rest right there while she threw the ball for her dogs.
He got to see more movement and hear more of their nails on the fence.

My flowing Gibby! We’ve been working and resting that area where the scary dogs are and every day it gets a little bit better. He actually met the owner today and we stood and talked at a nice critical distance to where he could just relax and get scratched and munch on the leaves and just taking the dogs. It went really really well.

We are riding FINALLY! I wanted to see how her front feet felt underneath me.
She has recovered from her pasture adventures mostly.
Cookie has very thin walls on her feet. So we’re gonna put shoes back on her on the 27th and I think she’ll be even more of a golden, golden pony.
I love how I can just step up there we’ve known each other so long.
Little rides and ground work as we get fit but I got my big ass up there.

So much for being excited about Cookie’s new pasture. She got put out with a gelding that ran the s**t out of her and kicked her now she has a hematoma and her right shoulder.
I miss my former property where I had control. I’m so upset.

My lovely barn owner has created some pasture and look my golden pony is out with her horses!
they had it made at my former property being out on 4 acres and I have lamented about there not being enough pasture where I’m bored but of course we have an amazing woman who is very conscientious she runs the place and she just goes out and waves are magic bond. This makes me very happy. Cookie is getting balanced after all the madness I put her through. We’re home Cookie!

Ranch riding with Gibby!
he is responding better to this beautiful mylar full cheek snaffle than he ever did any of my side pulls.
I’ve decided that there are horses that do better on the bit versus without.
Crystal is tuning him up while I work on my Palomino.

There are some new dogs in the neighborhood by the outdoor arena. And they climb the fence and make all kinds of scary noises. We’re on the opposite side of all that. And I’m just giving Gibby some things to think about besides going forward while he’s hearing all of that at a good critical distance. If he Woodside past two steps he got to graze, side past three steps go graze- all lots of little tiny incremental steps with lots of grazing in between.
Each day he gets better. Gets more soft.

Got the blue board out ! Cookie went right up! I was asking her to step over one step in the back while holding her front on the wiggly blue steps. (gym mat - Intrinzen inspired)
Real light and lots of concentration from Cookie as this was a new puzzle.
Stepping over is a nice hip stretch while some core tummy to hold your.front.
Cookie is such a sport while I play, look, try, feel my way around her.
It’s a rewarding exchange to get her feedback.

I had an incredible evening with my horse cookie. We jumped, we side passed, we looked into that beautiful golden sunset and rested in scary spots!
She is far more relaxed. I’ve had six days in a row to go out and play with her and it adds up.

Cookie has healed up so well and I’m just slowly building her up. I use my little purple crop only to suggest where I want her to go or to throw some energy toward her when she gets too close to me.
The farther away she is the more upright she is and not falling into the circle.
I’ve had so much fun with her. And she’s getting more confident down where the dogs bark.
In fact the neighbor came out and I got to have a chat with him about how the dogs scare us and scares the horses and he was very helpful!
It pays to be neighborly.

I’m just playing around. Cookie pulled a suspensory ligament a year and a half ago so I keep her pretty close by when I’m asking her to move out.
We’re both getting some exercise. Gibby is in training and I’m taking over with my little girl. I can’t ride two horses right now. I just don’t have time I’m so busy dog training. And I really miss getting to work with her. We’re just playing. I just love being out with her as you can see by my smile.

Find a video of me helping Cookie have a better association with this round pen. We’re going to be doing some remodeling but there’s some scary spots from the neighbor’s dogs hitting the fence behind us.
So I’m just playing some fun games with her.
If.I leave she follows and targets me even with high value treats on the tarp.
When I realize she was following me I asked her to trot so that it became familiar and not just a fearful departure to come to me it was more cognitive than emotional is my take or what I was trying to accomplish.
Bottom line my horse is safe with me and I’m delighted that she tells me so.
We’re working on side passing and playing games and targeting and then going resting in that corner or rather close to that corner where that stimulus is scary.

You find horse people no matter where you go. This is a gentleman I met on location while I’m out here having fun. His name is Luis and this is a nice little gray gelding he has. We talked a long time. I’m sorry I didn’t have my boots because he would’ve let me ride. I told him I’ll see him next year and I’ll bring my boots.

I really like this photograph. I took it of my friend who owns the barn where I board my horses. This is Christel and Gibby looking really handsome. She has helped me get back in the saddle after I broke my shoulder and my kneecap. I think they look just beautiful here. Thank you Crystal and Gibby!

Finally rode my pony! After breaking my shoulder and my kneecap and gaining 64,000 pounds so I finally got back up there. Let the games begin. Both the horses and I are going to get in shape and move forward. I admit I lost my confidence a little bit after getting hurt and being off for so long. Today was the day that we broke the ice.
