Meghan Killian and Britt Killian joined our foster team earlier this year, with no prior experience fostering. Mama Galaxy and her beautiful babies were their first fosters! She opened the door for them and they thankfully fell in love with fostering. We are so grateful to them as they have taken on different challenges since then and have done wonderful with each foster! Meghan got this tattoo in honor of Galaxy, who was recently adopted!!

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! I know for most people money is tight this year, moreso than normal. This year we have had more intakes, more medical emergencies, and more moms and kittens than we ever have. If you have the ability to donate, no amount is too small, and it always helps!

Rocco is a 5 year old neutered male who lived outside and was cared for five years until the woman reached out to our shelter for help. He has a warm and gentle personality and loves people. He is FIV+ and FELV +. He is looking for a forever home as the only cat or with another FELV+ cat. He is safe to be in a home with other animals as these viruses only affect cats. He recently had his vet checkup and the Vet said he is in good health despite his diagnosis. Our shelter can give you a better understanding of what being FIV/FELV positive means for Rocco. Rocco is going into foster care until he finds a loving owner of his own. Email [email protected] to inquire

Marengo - handsome 2 year old male who will be available for adoption soon. He has been to the vet but has a remaining booster and dental to be completed before he can be placed. This sweet boy was found abandoned and starving before a kind person took him in for care and safety. He loves to be brushed and is great with children ! Marengo is in foster now but Interested adopters should contact [email protected]

It’s Secret Santa Time once again at Animal Friends of Connecticut! Help us make Christmas special for our shelter cats by signing up to be an AFOC Secret Santa! 🎄🐈

Here’s how to sign up:

1. Choose a cat (or multiple!) from the upcoming posts and message us on Facebook to claim them as your “Secret Santa” kitty. Cats marked “reserved for Secret Santa” are already taken.
2. We’ll send you details for sending your cat’s Christmas package and update the post to show your kitty is "RESERVED."
3. Send gifts from their wish list, pick something you think they’d love, or donate in their name. Gifts can be sent to AFOC or ordered directly from Chewy/Amazon.
Thank you for making the holidays brighter for these cats! ✨

Does anyone remember Beauty?? One of the kittens who fell ill with panleukopenia/distemper a few months ago? She was declining and Mama Peanut took her in as her adopted daughter and cared for her. And she took a turn for the better and successfully recovered. We believe Peanut is the reason she healed!!

Here she is now THRIVING in her home with one of our amazing volunteers!! She is now an avid bird watcher and a certified snuggle bug!

We love a happy ending 🥰🥰
