*****RESCUE UPDATE 🔊🔊🔊

Hey guys! So as I’ve said in our previous posts, though we are finishing up for a bit as a rescue until the future, there was a situation recently I was called to assist with and I couldn’t say no. This is a very sad situation, and without going into much detail, many many many animals were left behind in deplorable conditions when their owner passed away and some were not as lucky to survive. Over 100 cats were trapped at this location. So far, I have pulled 3 bottle babies from here, and a HUGE thanks to the wonderful woman who has been fostering them for us while we looked for a permanent rescue to take them... which we have luckily found and they will be transported there tomorrow. I have also pulled a very very sweet adult, who will be introduced soon, and one hissy kitten who I am working with to socialize. I am also transferring 5 ferals to their new barn home tonight! It may not be much, but I was glad to offer my help, even if it was in a smaller capacity than I am used to.

There are still many friendly cats and ferals who are looking for rescue placement, fosters, adopters, or barn homes. If you or anyone you know, may be able to assist with any of these requests, please send us a message. We are looking for rescues to pull friendly cats, assist with finding barn homes, people who are able to foster friendly cats/kittens, people who are potentially looking to adopt, or anyone who has property/shelter/barn for feral cats to call home.

If you are unable to help with the animals directly, there are still many other ways to help. Reaching out to people you know and sharing this post is just as important. And of course, the vetting and care for all of these animals is extremely expensive. If you are in a position to donate, please send us a message or comment on our post, and we can direct you to the fundraisers for the rescues handling the majority of the vetting.

A little update on some of our recent adoptions! We have two kittens currently up for adoption, and they will be posted next!

First, our sweet Honey Boy who was with us for a few months being socialized, who was overlooked at every event he attended, finally found his forever person, and fur family. He is doing so well and we couldn’t have asked for a better adopter for him than our double offender (she adopted our 11 year old boy Reyes a few months ago 😉) Terry Todd. Terry has been one of our supporters from day one, and she is such a devoted cat mom, and wonderful human all around. We are so thankful she decided to give him a chance.

Second, our crazy boy Koda went home! He is living the life with a little toddler, and has finally met his energy match! This family understood the importance of not needing a tiny little kitten with a toddler, and opened their homes to our 5 month old boy who has been with us for 3 months, left behind when all his siblings were scooped up when they were tinier. We are so happy for Koda and his new family 💙

Third, is an update on Momma Cee Cee, who is absolutely spoiled and doing amazing in her new home. We love that she has an instagram account so we get to follow her through cute videos and photos! 😻

& Lastly, our FIV+ boy Brendan has been in a foster to adopt home for two weeks now, and is doing so amazing! He gets along great with his new sister, and hopefully will be officially adopted soon! We can’t thank his momma Alana enough for giving him a chance despite his imperfect immune system💙

Hi guys!! So you may have noticed we have been more quiet than usual lately.. but we still have been hard at work, so busy, that we haven’t been able to update our page.

It’s McKenzie here, the director, and I have some news to share with you.

First, the good news is, I’m so happy to announce I will be having a baby boy come January! I am so excited to meet my little man and embark on this journey in my life.💙

The bad news is, due to such a big change in my life, I will be taking a break rescuing for the near future. Aside from donations, I fund my rescue myself, and I cannot take on the financial responsibility any longer with a son coming. I have a fundraiser running on my personal page to raise funds to TNR some cats, and for supplies/vet work for the friendly cats/kittens I am holding and beginning vet work on while I look for rescues to take them permanently and adopt them out because being pregnant and fostering multiple cats is very difficult 🤣

Rescuing is my true passion, and I know this break will not be permanent. I seem to have been born a cat lady, and I can’t wait to one day teach my son the importance of volunteering for something you are so passionate about. Of course there have been downs, but there have been so so many ups, and nothing will ever replace the feeling of adoption days and seeing cats and kittens you raised, socialized, or nourished back to health finally get their chance at a happy forever.

Until I go into labor, I plan on still helping other rescues and transports as I can, to help network for other rescues, direct people in need of help to rescues who may be able to help, etc. I will NO longer be taking cats permanently and adopting them out though or taking on new trapping projects without another rescues confirmation to take them. I have a few more adults to TNR, and if I am unable to find rescues to take the few kittens I have, they will be fully vetted and put up for adoption as my last ones before my break.

If you have fostered for my rescue and are still interested in fostering in the future, please keep an eye on our next posts. We have a situation we are helping with that we will be announcing that we are looking for as many fosters, adopters, and rescues to help as possible.

As always, thank you for the support. I started this rescue on my own less than a year ago, and since then we have rescued/tnr’ed over a hundred cats and kittens. A number I could have never imagined possible, but you all helped us get there. ❤️

Followers & friends.. we need your help 💛💛

A few weeks ago, a close individual to us found a cat barely alive, dehydrated, walking the yellow line in town. He is mostly blind and deaf, and it is a miracle he was not hit as he wouldnt be able to hear a car honking well🥺. To our surprise, this old man is the sweetest cat that there could be! We have been looking for weeks, but unfortunately have not found anyone looking for this sweet man, and he is not microchipped. He has been battling a pretty nasty URI, and after two different medications not working the way we had wished, it’s time for us to do further testing. He’s clearly older with minimal teeth left, and has lost a significant amount of weight, whether he had been lost outside alone, or mistreated, we are not sure. We have been doing our best to nurse him back to health, but we think there may be other underlying issues we need to address as well.

We would like to bring him in for a full
blood work up and potentially xrays if needed. After a kitten season far more intense than we could have ever imagined, we are extremely short on funds. One of the main reasons, we currently aren’t able to take any new animals into our rescue.

Do you have a dollar to spare to help Beaver? No amount is too small. It’s been awhile since we have asked for your help, but Beaver really needs your help now. We appreciate each and every one of our friends, supporters, and donators. If you cannot donate, please share this post. Beaver and The Dunn Right Cat Rescue family thank you from the bottom of our hearts ♥️

We will also gladly accept donations directly to our vet, you can message us for this information.

We are updating our adoptable folder! We will finish it up tomorrow. We have had a few adoptions and pending adoptions we need to reflect, and we wanted to update our pictures and descriptions as we spend more time with everyone and get to know them even better! Some of our adults we thought needed to go alone, actually just needed some time to adjust to others, and really enjoy their company. Stay tuned. We have more events being announced soon too! 😁😻

KITTEN OF THE DAY: MEET KODA!!!

Koda is the last of his litter mates looking for a home. He is fully vetted, fixed, and microchipped and is around 4 months old. He loves to make biscuits, snuggle, sleep in bed with you, and enjoys belly rubs. But with the flip of a switch, Koda can change into a ball of energy, doing laps around the house and he loves to carry his toys around in his mouth. He loves other kittens, and adult cats, so he must go to a home with another pet, or adopt a buddy for him from us. He definitely needs another energetic pet to tire him out or you may catch him doing laps at 3am.. lol. Koda is a gorgeous grey and creme marble tabby and would love to find his forever home soon. He was rescued as a little kitten and it took us 3 days to lure him out of the hole in the rocks he was living. He deserves a warm home and endless love for all of his days.. 💛

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Koda, fill out an application and send us a message. He is located in Sussex NJ.

Black Cat Saturday! Here are some of our black cats we have for adoption. 😼🐾🖤

#1- Little Dude! We originally posted he was on the shy side, but little dude has really started to come out of his shell! He is full of energy and enjoys racing through the house and playing with toys. He’s learning that pets and scratches actually feel really good, and we are getting him used to being carried around and handled. He’s truly turning into a purr bug! He definitely would do best with another young playful buddy. He is fully vetted fixed and microchipped and ready to go. He is long haired, and will require maintenance so he does not get matted. His butt is currently shaved due to his surgery, but it is doing him well and less baths are included 🤣

#2- Lula! Lula is the last of her litter looking for a home. She is EXTREMELY loving and social, and most often you can find her climbing your body and shoulders for love and kisses. She loves to cuddle and play. She is very human oriented so it’s possible she can go alone to someone who is home most of the time, but we would of course, prefer her to go to a home with another resident animal, or a friend from us. She is also fully vetted, fixed, and microchipped and ready to go.

#3- A few weeks ago we rescued 5 kittens from a backyard and we will continue trapping over the next few weeks to finish up the project. The kittens were a little older than we normally like to trap, as it’s harder to socialize them, but so far, 2 of them are ready for adoption and the other 3 are not far behind. This is the first one of them to be socialized, Crow! He is very loving and cuddly. He loves to sleep in bed, and is constantly rubbing against you for attention. He would do best with one of his litter mates or to a house with another playmate for him. He does like to cuddle with the other kittens and interact at playtime. He is almost ready to go, and will be fixed in two weeks. He does have his first vaccines, is flea treated, and dewormed. He is available currently for foster to adopt, though.

#4- This is Crow’s sibling, Sparrow. She is also very cuddly and friendly. She loves soft blankets and to relax in bed. She is more of a calm lap kitten opposed to a super energetic crazy one. She currently has a gorgeous grey and black fever coat, but please note, in most cases this does turn mostly black as they get older. She is still on the petite side, and will get fixed in two weeks as well. Her and Crow spend a lot of time together, and we would love to see them go together. But if not, she would do well with another cat. She does enjoy snuggling with our adults we have. She is also available for foster to adopt until she’s fixed and can be officially adopted. She currently has her first vaccines, has been flea treated, and dewormed.

We are located in Sussex NJ. If you are interested in meeting our crew, please message us and fill out an application. We are having some meet and greets tomorrow and would love to meet you too! 💛 We also have events in the works for the upcoming weekends.

I’m not one to usually make sappy long adoption posts about our cats, because well, I believe everyone can form their own opinion of who is best for them when meeting them. Or I share videos for them to watch how they act, so they can get a better idea themselves.

But then we have Brendan. Who time and time again, is ALWAYS ALWAYS overlooked.. and I’m constantly asking myself why. Brendan is one of the best cats I’ve ever met, and he has the strongest personality. He is one of the most loving creatures I have ever met.. a true companion. He is so loyal to me in just the few short months we have known each other. Brendan LOVES to be loved on. He follows me around at my heels, butting my body whenever he can for some rubs. Anytime I am sitting on my couch or bed, he is there by my side. He sleeps cuddled up with me every single night. Because of his strong personality, he has tons of energy and loves to play like a kitten. Because of his kitten tendencies, he can still play bite sometimes, so it’s important he goes to a home with children who understand this, if there is any. Of course it’s never in malice or does any damage though! He is a gorgeous medium hair cream orange&white boy with olive green eyes and is still young at only 2 years old. Brendan would prefer to go home to a house with another calm cat, or on his own, as he does like all the attention to himself and to be your number 1. But as you can see in the pictures, he clearly tolerates little kittens, even if they get on his nerves sometimes and he has to take a break in a high spot. He’s always there to be a cuddle partner when needed. ❤️ Brendan is vocal and will be happy to have conversations with you when you’re lonely. He loves breakfast and dinner time, and is a big fan of fluffy blankets so that he can show you how to make biscuits cat style. Brendan is perfect in so many ways. But of course, no one is perfect, and neither is Brendan. Brendan has FIV, which of course, is no biggie if you do some research and get the correct information on this auto immune disease. In cats with FIV, as long as they are on a healthy diet and kept up to date on vaccines and veterinary care, in many cases, no additional care is needed from any ordinary cat. If you want to be proactive of course you can add an immune supplement which are available online for affordable prices. They cannot transfer this to any other cats through bodily fluids, sharing food, water, liter, rough housing, sharing toys, etc. They can live happily with other animals, as Brendan has been doing for months, and can continue doing safely for the rest of his life. He is NOT a risk to other pets in any shape or form.

It’s time for Brendan to find his forever home. He came from a hoarding situation of over 70 cats, and he deserves nothing less from the best moving forward. If you are interested in meeting Brendan, he would love to have some visitors. Fill out an application and/or send us a message!

we trapped some kittens about a week ago, and though we are still working to socialize all of them, our first boy has come around! Meet Crow! He’s vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and he will be finishing up his vaccines and getting fixed and microchipped within the next few weeks and will be looking for a home of his own! We named him crow because of his big yellow eyes 💛
