This past weekend I went to visit my family and suprised my nephew for his 9th birthday. He had no idea I was coming 🥰
Though it was so good spending time with my family, I’m glad to be back to doing what I love; caring for your pups!
When I first went into business for myself I thought that I’d be able to take off whenever I wanted to travel and take trips but that is far from the reality lol. But huge thank you to my clients that shifted their appointments to help make this possible 🤞🏽🐾

Line brushing with a metal comb is extremely important for all double double coated/ thick coated breeds to keep their coat healthy and mat free. Only combing the top layer of the coat can hide matting and tangles.

Raye Belle LOVES a good game a fetch/chase. So, whenever we have time after our walk we’ll play for a bit. But for whatever reason, she insists on racing me 😂 I let her win….most of the time. I honestly don’t know who has more fun on our visits, her or me. 🧡

Come prep Hershey with me for her bath! (I was so nervous doing this voice over 😆) Thoroughly combing out the coat first give us a chance to see the condition of the coat. Using this method on double coated breeds, pulling the hair up and combing down, allows for smaller sections to be combed through and we won’t miss and tangles or matting.
Bathing a pup without getting rid the tangles/ matting can make them tighter and larger, and you also won’t be able to properly clean the area of the skin that has the matting.
Common places for matting:
•Face
•Ears
•Legs
•Paws
•Chest
•Sanitary Area

It’s Thunder over Louisville here in the common wealth. The noise from not only the fireworks, but the air show can be really stressful and scary for some pups, especially if they are already anxious.
You can try distracting your pup with white noise or engaging with them. Keep them inside and supervise them anytime they have to go out. You should also make sure your pup has their collars with their identification tags.

Grooming is not as easy as it looks! It takes a lot of time, practice and patience. Also, equipment and supplies is not cheap. Groomer is an extra expense that should be considered when picking out a pet. A longer haired dog, like a doodle, will need to be groomed every 4-6 weeks, and you’d be required to do some maintenance at home like brushing and combing to help keep their coat healthy. If that’s not something you’d be willing to do, consider getting a dog who’s coat stays short.
