The Wanblee event was awesome, the Red Shirt event is this week. In Wanblee I got to meet great people, help teach kids about horses and Jesus, and work with a horse that has a lot of potential but still has a long way to go. Up and at it this morning getting ready to head down to Red Shirt. If you are located in Rapid City, Hermosa, Buffalo Gap, or other surrounding communities come on out and say hi. The main night for the clinic is Tuesday the 11th. There will be food at 5pm and the horse work starts at 6pm. It's all free (including the food). I will be working with a two year old who is under saddle to demonstrate what it looks like when one is started on the path to make a saddle horse then working with an older horse who hasn't had much training to show how to get started building the foundation I like a horse to have.

I have in a couple of young horses who are shedding caps and developed some sharp points on their teeth. I just had Ward Equine Services work on them and I can't say enough about how much better these two horses rode and operated after their teeth were worked on.

I had the absolute privilege of having a conversation with Pat Puckett. If you don't know who he is and are wanting to get along with your horse check him out on youtube. There are very few people I recommend to learn horsemanship from but Pat definitely makes that list. He is direct and to the point yet gracious at the same time. Thank you Pat.

It's been awhile since I've put up any updates. There have been some really nice changes that have taken place around N.B.H. For one thing I got a new camera that will hopefully make up for my poor photography. I started using hay nets last year and really liked them and this year got frames to hang the nets on to make feeding way easier than putting the net on and off every time I go to feed. I also got a brand new round pen which is really really nice. And then there have been a lot of new arrivals on the place. The paint in the pics just got here today. I will put up more pics of the other new horses and updates around the place in the future.

Nice mannered filly that I had the privilege of putting the first 30 days on. This was her day of first saddling.

There have been three foals born on the place over the last two years and everyone has shown up on a Sunday morning. This girl made her appearance in the mud and slop after the last few days of rain.

This young lady went to the sale barn to work today. She did so good. Opening gates, waving flags, people yelling, and all kinds of movement and racket and she handled it really well. Don't miss your chance to own this well bred good looking filly. She is lot #2 at the Sleep All Night Bulls and Horse Sale, 1:00 pm April 18th, River Hills Ranch in Platte SD.

I have seen horses that are a challenge to saddle. It isn't hard to get one good to saddle but people are in too big of a hurry.
