🎃👻Halloween is this Friday! Costumes and candy make Halloween fun for the whole family, but they can also bring a few spooky surprises for pets. Keep chocolate, xylitol treats, and glow sticks safely out of reach, and if you’re dressing up your furry friends make sure costumes don’t restrict movement or breathing. A calm space away from the doorbell can make the night much less frightful for your furry friends. Have a fun and safe Halloween! 👻🎃

🐱🐶 Dogs and cats age much faster than we do. For that reason, your dog and cat should have a complete wellness exam at least once a year. As your pet ages, these exams should be done at least twice yearly. Unsure when your last exam was done? Give us a call and we can let you know if they are due for their exam. 🐈🐩

September 20, 2025 is Puppy Mill Awareness Day which encourages those looking for a new dog to “ADOPT, NOT SHOP”. This day spreads the word about the poor conditions of puppy mills. While reputable dog breeders care for the animals they raise, a puppy mill doesn’t put the animals' needs first. If you are considering a pet, consider adopting from a shelter. Even purebred animals find their way there!

On this solemn day of remembrance, we would like to pause to thank all of the first responders - including the veterinarians and technicians who volunteered at the mobile veterinary hospital set up at Ground Zero - who worked tirelessly to do what they do best. And may we never forget those who were lost, and those who were saved.

Find toys (such as the fishing pole type) that stimulate this instinct. And sometimes a simple crumpled up piece of paper can also work as a toy. Keeping your kitty active helps maintain an ideal body weight and stimulates your cat’s brain.🐈
