🎆🎇🐶🐱 Another big holiday is right around the corner. July 4 is next Friday! Now is the best time to make sure you’ll be set not only for celebrating the day, but keeping your pets safe. Make sure your pets have an ID collar and/or are microchipped; keep your pets indoors and give them a safe, comfortable place furthest away from the noise of fireworks. Play relaxing music, white noise or the TV to distract your pets. Some pets may require medication to help keep them comfortable. Talk to us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so that we can help you plan ahead for a stress-free 4th for you and your pets.🇺🇸

🐶🐱🚗 NEVER leave your pets in the car! The inside of your car heats to life-threatening levels quickly, even on a seemingly cool day. Cracking the windows or running the air conditioner in the car while you are away DOES NOT WORK! Don’t risk your pets life – take them out of the car when you are not there with them. Better yet, leave them in a cool place at home.

🥵🐶🐱 The weather next week in our area is looking to be HOT!! When the thermometer rises to high levels, you need to help your pets stay cool. Limit activities, keep a fan or air conditioner on for relief, keep indoors, have lots of fresh water available, and get your watering hose out to wet your pet down. Watch for signs of heat distress: heavy panting, restlessness, weakness, vomiting, and/or bloody diarrhea. Seek veterinary care immediately if you notice any of these signs. ☀️🌡️

🐈🐩 According to the American Humane Association, only 15% of dogs and 2% of cats WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION are returned to their owners after they become separated from their families. Give your pet the best chance of being found! TWO forms of identification are best: 1) identification collar and 2) a microchip. 🐾🐾 Intestinal parasites can be a real concern for pets in our area. Did you know that a national study found that 85% of dog parks tested positive for intestinal parasites and one in five dogs tested positive for intestinal parasites? The Companion Animal Parasite Council recommends that a f***l examination be performed on your dogs and cats at least once each year depending on lifestyle.
