We discovered a different version of “Porcupine Disease” this morning—the needle grass is definitely mature!

It is not painful, the seedheads have barbs that easily stick to Tug’s fur, not into his skin. Then the tail has a corkscrew spiral that enhances its ability to stay buried in the fur. Just an efficient method for the grass to spread its seeds.

"Connect before you Correct"

This may seem like a simple thing, but it is not always easy to do. Before we try to correct a behavior, we have to understand what caused it in the first place. Today, try and look at an undesirable (or a desirable) behavior in the whole context. What happened just before the behavior? How might the dog have seen the situation differently than you? How is your response going to strengthen or change the behavior? Life with a pet is a partnership and both sides of the story are important. Take a minute to imagine and enjoy an entirely different point of view!
